Depdog got a passenger seat run in the TPC car. Cars always feel faster from the passenger seat.
.....Having said that, you have to grasp what a significant comment that is I'm making...a C4S is a heavier AWD boat with signifcantly higher driveline losses than Ddog's C2 Cab or a GT3....hence, think of how much more dominant and faster a TPC'ed C2 would be than a C4S* ...we're talking GT2 levels at that point.

PS: Incidentaly, TPC makes REALLY nice 993 SC kits too...in fact, thats what they started with at first and those kits have proved to be reliable and very quick* I remember a guy telling me he was pulling a well driven Ferrari 360 *stradale* on the straights of his local track in his 993 C4 with the NON-intercooled TPC SC on his otherwise stock motor (just H/E mods) And they have an intercooled option for the 993 kits worth an extra 40+HP. I imagine that kit on a 993 C2 with the intercooler option would be pretty wild too ~355rwhp*

I agree I don't think the Foreign Affairs C4S is THAT much faster than ddog's ride but I'm sure its faster...even he agree's and he's been in both and has no reason to be bias against his OWN car especially after putting all the love and $$$ into it.

Yeah, I read an article in Excellence not too long ago about a red 993 with the TPC kit. The writer said that the car felt like the fastest car he had ever been in!
A bit off topic, there was also a 95 993 there that had been converted to a twin turbo by Proto-tech in S Fl. For about $24k you can have 430 rwhp in a car like mine.
Chris, seriously, what do you mean don't take it as an endorsement. You offered a relatively unbiased approach to running the traps. It may not be the most accurate, but you did a heck of a lot of runs and the evidence seems to bear out that freer-flowing intakes and exhausts help a motor. Go figure, but I am certain people still have problems with this concept.
You definitely got me juiced on the headers; I was checking under my car over the weekend just to have a look and the Porsche stock headers are U-G-L-Y. I really really liked the look of the Fabspeed product and am glad to hear tha you had a favorable experience with them.
One question: considering that you got some elevation in horsepower at what I assume is higher revs, can you comment on how the torque and power felt in the 3-5k rev band? Thanks bud. Really loved your post.

Hey, what happened to my post?
I'll try and repost it all later, must have a glitch on my computer at work. Sorry guys.
Ed, it felt strong all the way to 7k, pulls hard. Call Joe, he'll make you a very competitive deal I assure you.

. hope it's a better deal than that.
Not sure what happened, but here we go again. Remember, these are Escort G-timer rwhp figures that I did on my car over several months time. There is no substitute for a real engine dyno, but these will suffice for comparing mods + or -. The g timer I used was the cheaper one of the three they sell, it has no real memory and has to be reset constantly. You have to enter your veh wt and a few other variables and correction factors. Once you get it dailed in, and set it up the same every time, it's reasonably accurate. I tried to do at least three runs and took the average of the runs, some #'s were higher, some lower, anything grossly out of wack was discarded. This was as methodical as I could make it guys.....
11/05 stock 996 C4S with BMC1 filter, stock mufflers.......269hp(6 runs)
11/05 GHL quiet mufflers, stock air filter........................268hp(5)
1/06 Fabspeed mufflers, BMC filter................................276hp(3)
1/06 Fabspeed mufflers, stock airfilter, fabspeed headers..285hp(3)
Notes; yet to try it with a new bmc1 filter or airbox. The weather was different, there is no correction for this.Felt stonger all the way through the higher RPM range, did lose some below 4k though.
All in all, happy with the fab setup, your results can and will vary, for comparison/entertainment only.
Note, I repeated this post from memory, I have it recorded someplace at home, so it may be slightly off from the original post.
Agree with Doggy, a graph would be nice, but hey, this is as good as it's gonna get for now, works for me.
