What is the value of a 2004 C4 cab as a trade in???

I am considering trading in my 2002 C4 for a 2002 Ferrari spider and was wondering if anyone had any ideal what a fair number would be for my car?

The car was purchased last year and the mods (listed below) are within a year. The mods were approx. $17k new for all of them.

If you are trading it in to a dealer...the mods will not count for much in fact things like the turbo look rear, and tail and front bumper may take away from the value because they are not Porsche parts and the impression one gets from a modded car is that its been abused. Now selling it to a private party usually nets about .25 cents on the dollar for mods....So do a blue book value and add $4k for your mods and I think that would be a ball park asking price for the car. The next thing would be to return it to stock and sell your mods....then you can get much more for them than on the car...I'd be interested in the rims....Good luck!

Thanks for your input. Do you know if 2002 C4 wheels will fit your car???

I gave myself a credit for the mods of 50 cents on the dollar since the mods are a year old and the dealer also had mod's on their car. WHICH was one of their sales points on a 2002 Ferrari spider. Saleman "the guy payed $11k for the wheels for GFG 20 and 19 on the fronts". Real price is $6,500 out the door on the car.

I wish that I could afford to keep my car and get the other without the bu****it of having to deal with a trade in.

WTF?

HOW COULD YOU get rid of that stunning Porsche? Even a Ferrari, as nice as it is, won't give you the same permagrin for very long.

Yeah...the dealer uses everything against you in that case...I found that out. If its a mod on a trade in they knock it down, if its on the car they are selling they mark it up....its a racket.

dealers always try to rape you on trade in. i was given 52K for a trade in. i decided to hold off. last week, the dealer called and ask if i want to sell my car since i have a buyer. they said it would be a great opportunity as they are offering me 57K. i said sure. they actually sent the guy to my office to look at the car. it turns out the guy is offering 64K for my car!!! he ended up not taking the car because it wasn't the right color.

i clearly remember the dealer telling me how my c4s will have to take a hit because the new c4s are out. they can't sell it for more than 55K!! what a BS. this guy actually told me all the ones he is looking are all around 62-65K.

boy if i only had the time to sell the car myself!!

Robert,

Just curious what you ended up doing about your car? Did you trade it in? Sell private party? Just trying to get an idea because I am looking to buy a C4 and will probably go with a 2001 or 2002 since those are more within my budget. Too bad you're all the way in Florida...your car looks sweeeeet! Any input you could provide would be great! Thanks!

I am sitting on my coach and debating on whether or not to sell it. Or just wait and TRY to keep the C4 and than also have a Ferrari. SO to answer your question, I have not done anything as of yet.

If I do sell; it would be on my terms and I would want someone who could really appreaciate what passion I put into this car and would respect her. Rather than just another sales guy, laughing at the number her got my car for and than seller her to the first / highest bidder.

Thanks for the info Robert. Good luck either way. I hope to find something similar to yours soon. I had to sell my 99 996 last year since the job that I had been very loyal to decided that I was getting too expensive to keep around, especially after a merger. Worried that it would be tough to find something, I sold my car. Come to find out, I never needed to. I ended up landing a new job before I even left my old one!! I wanted to wait a little bit to make sure the new job worked out and now that it seems stable, I am ready to get a toy again!!

Thanks again and good luck! Sounds like you have a tough life too, having to decide on whether or not to keep both cars!!
