996 Transmission Rebuild

I need to get one of my transmissions rebuilt, 1999 996 6-speed. Anyone know where I can get one rebuilt?

Best of luck.....most people consider them "disposable".


Let me know if you find someplace that does or even that sells parts as I have lost 6th gear.

BS. There are a few places that rebuild them. Do a search on rennlist there are a few mentions of places and I believe there are ads also which offer this service in excellence or another mag.

He did a rebuild on mine and it works great. He also upgraded the 1/2 syncro and some of the internal bearings, put in a LSD and changed to cup car gears for 3-6. Wow, what a performance difference from the gear change!

nice! how much did that run and how quick was the turnaround etc?

The rebuild was about $2000.00 including shipping. The LSD and new gears added about $5000.00 to that. They turned the tranny around in about a week.
