So I'm leaking collant. Saw some yellow stains on the garage floor so I took out the plastic protective cover underneath towards the engine and found this part leaking. Can someone tell wth is this part called? It is attached to some rubber hoses and the leak originates from the space between the white plastic and the black plastic. Searched for this in the 996 catalog but couldn't find it. Help pls!
BTW what is that part for? Why does it have a lever that goes up and down? Just curious what it does.
I believe that it regulates the coolant flow into the transmission oil cooler, another post called it a heater control valve, so depending on where it is mounted on your vehicle may determine it's use, but the only pictures I found were for the transmission cooler.
Some pictures from the internet.

Got it! Thanks again! Now the challenging part is being careful not to break the extremely rusted metal bracket. Will do another search for the hoses and clamps. Since I'm already replacing that valve...might as well change those hoses and clamps.
Oh by the way, got all the parts for this DIY and unfortunately they don't have the PLATE in-stock (part# 99630740100) Have to wait a few weeks for it. Contemplating on just fabricating this part but the curved portion will be the challenge.
