Extra Key $862!
Extra Key $862!
I'm being quoted what I think is a high price for a 2nd key for my 2001 Carrera. The local dealer gave me $591 for the key and $215 for 'labor'.
Is this in the range of what I should be paying for an extra key? Thanks.

A relative of a friend of ours had a fire in her attached condo and the keys to her Cayenne were lost in the fire (the car was outside, so it was undamaged). It cost her $900 to replace her car key.
By the way, the key I had that wouldn't work remotely, I sent to a place in the UK who I found on Ebay and he fixed it for a nominal amount. If you have a key that doesn't work remotely, you might want to go that route. There's also a guy in the UK who will make a key for your car if you just send him a picture of it. He charges something like $40, but I'm pretty sure it's not a remote key (just a valet key). Good luck.
