While disassembling my 996 turn signal stalk assembly, a small clear plastic cap fell out. It's approximately 1/3 " square and appears to be a cap or a cup somewhere in the assembly. It looks like it would be the end for a stalk. I'm using 928srus turn signal stalk repair kit. It's simple and straightforward to install, my turn signal indicator fails to cancel, it's a problem common to 996s as I understand. I can't reference this part in any assembly diagram or parts list. I want to ensure it's assembled properly prior to installing it back into my car. I'm trying to add pics to this post but have been struggling to do so, I will add them when possible. Your help is greatly appreciated!

First, the plastic cap is inserted in a notch in the black plastic housing when the metal cover is re-attached. It prevents a screw from shorting the inside of the switch.
Second, the other black plastic part in your picture is what actuates the return function when the wheel is re-centered. However, yours is missing the two tiny coil springs. It will not work without them.

I will look at the messaging function when I return to the States in one week.
