mfletch is infamous around these parts
Thanks for posting the exterior pictures. The car looks great with the CF and black parts blending together.

Got home from work and the Braille battery holder had arrived.

Sharkwerks had done their magic and came up with a low center of gravity solution for the battery already. Note that the battery sits just about 5 inches off the ground in this set up. The Exide battery they used is a sealed and small battery weighting in at 35.2 lbs.

I am switching to a 11.5 lbs Braille battery.

Since it is much smaller and lighter, I am going to move it back in the original position.

I used the Braille laydown aluminum mount. I also got new original Porsche postive and negative wires.

Here is the battery mounted in the Porsche tray. Drilled holes in the tray, bolted the Braille mount down, then tack welded the nuts to the pan so I can just remove the mount/battery as needed without taking the whole assymbly apart.

The ground wire was not long enough to allow me to move the battery to the left side of the tray. Miner point to try to offset the driver's weight, I know I'm being too ****...

I think the final results are pretty clean.

I think it is OK for now since the side mirrors and rear tail are also carbon.

gerk, the mats are Rennline. You can get them from Sharkwerks (board sponser).

Exposed CF hoods are so 2001....

Fantastic car none the less!

The next mod is going to be front splitters. Here is a before picture for starters.

I bought these splitters from a member on this forum. They are meant for turbo front bumpers, so I had to get creative on the fit. They are made of hard plastic.

I attached them via some self tapping screws. They are very secure

Finally took her out to the track, Infinion Raceway (Sears Point).

Very fun weekend. She is very well behaved on the track. This was my first time out in a Porsche, and I'm amazed how responsive this car is.

The steering is so accurate, the brakes were ridiculous, and I just love how you can totally steer the car with the throtle in the middle of the turn. The LWFW was a great match, and the engine pulled nice and strong all the way to the red line. The only minor disappointment was the B&M short shifter. Downshifts from 3 to 2 were not all that smooth. Time to change it out to a 997 GT3 shifter.

Two days later and I still can't get rid of the stupid grin in my face.

The weather got as hot as 88 degrees (got to love it in late October...), and the cup tires were gripping well. Although they are very sensative to tire pressure, much more so than Hoosiers or Toyos (at least in an RX7).

Hello Alex,

Yes, the third radiator is in.

The car was an absolute joy to drive. Thank you again for this wonderfully set up car.

I am thinking of changing the rear windows to lexan to drop off some more weight.

The other idea is to sell it and get a GT3.

coming from a guy who tracked his car with a SC... the third radiator a must!

also water meth injection if tracking in 90+ temps. my car overheated INSTANTLY after the water meth ran out

a better intercooler system is in need too. i had an early setup. the reservoir was tiny.

the power was awesome. definitely in GT3 territory.

The SC was taken off the car, she is NA. No over heating issues at all. Granted it only got up to 88 degrees, but none the less she ran rock solid right around the 190 degree mark.
