Next in was the black dash. I am really proud of myself, not a single broken tab. I really took my time and didn't rush it.

Alex had removed the rear seats, so I got a chance to remove the rear seat belt mechanism and cover up the seatbelt slot. So now it looks like a GT3 C piller.

I dyed the leather arm rests on the door and center section from blue to black. I also painted the hood, trunk, and door handles black. Some other pieces such as coat hook, speaker grills, etc. were also painted black.

Here are the A/B/C pillars with the newly converted grey door, side panels, and carpets.

Put the roll bar, seats, and all the other pieces back in. What do you think?

I forgot to not put the key in the ignition while the battery was disconnected, so once everything was put back together I ended up with an airbag light.

How do I take care of the airbag light?

The interior looks outstanding. Where did you pick up the alcantara?

Alex, I saw your posting. That is what inspired me to post up the interior change.

*****, thank you for your kind words. I had a local shop do the alcantara job.

Next mod is going to be an even lighter battery, got a Braille 11.5 lb.

Congratulations! You did an outstanding job on the interior. Here is a picture of mine, about midway through the rebuild. You an I have done a lot of the same work. I was also very tempted to leave the interior gutted, to shed a few pounds.

I love the new interior look. The alcantara looks fantastic. Do you have any pictures of the CF hood? Are you going to leave it unpainted? When I install my aero kit, I am going to have the hood repainted to take care of some chips. I have been tempted to just get a CF hood and leave it unpainted.

mfletch, yes I left the hood in CF. It came with clear coat. My wife doesn't like it, she thinks it is too "rice".

She actually made me paint my CF hood on the RX7...

I think it is OK for now since the side mirrors and rear tail are also carbon.

gerk, the mats are Rennline. You can get them from Sharkwerks (board sponser).

Here is a shot from the front. Good bit of weight savings, just on the wrong end of the car.
