RMS Dealer Pricing??

I was at the dealer the other day looking at the inventory , and i asked about how much it would cost to have my RMS done. They infomed me that their price was $1200, but that included the RMS and the Intermediate drive seal also. The tech said they always do both seals at the same time?? They also said if i wanted a clutch they would do that for no extra labor???

Is this a good deal??? Also, how would i know if its time for a new clutch??? Should i wait until the clutch goes and have everything done at one time?

Also, if i do pull the trigger. Is there any other upgrades/work that should be done at the same time?? i.e. lightweight flywheel ??

Thanks in advance!!

I am in sort of the same boat.

I am going to buy the EVO stage 2 clutch that comes with the light weight flywheel. I plan doing this when I have my 30K service done.

After reading on this and other forums...I am going to have RMS changed out too. Might as well..since they are in there. All I know is if you are having the RMS done..might as well look into a clutch upgrade and vice versa, since I am changing my clutch, I might as well do my RMS.

But I wouldnt go to the dealer for this...there are quite a few site sponsors that can give you a better price. At least match...and you can get piece of mind you are supporting the site and the sponsor will at least give a crap about your car unlike the dealer.

lol...as much as i would love to go to one of the site sponsors. I thing im a good 1500 miles away from the nearest one here in mid michigan .

What's the general consensus on the flywheel upgrade...worth the trouble, any negatives?

Your local indy shop will prolly do it for $700-$800. As I understand it is an honest 6-8 hour job.

75k miles. Is the dealer significatly better than the indie's. there aren't any porsches here so this would be the first go at it for any indie in the area???

book time is 7 hours + parts for the rms/clutch

Have them reseal everything,
then you'll have a 2 year warranty on related leaks

Remember book time doesnt' mean the actual time. Tech who works on my car took about 2.5 hours to do my clutch and RMS. Don't think there will be any discounts because they are fast, they get paid book time....
