Get the 996 TTS and wait a year or two for the 997 TT to drop.

If you are interested in a cab, Lamborghini Chicago has a very nice black TTS with low mileage. Wants a fortune for it though.

Maybe, but he will take a hit on the TT S when he sells it....and that hit may be equal to the extra money on the 997 TT....I say look at both, when you find the better deal go for it....You can try and find a used 997TT. I have seen a few of them as people are going to GT3's. Usually every time you sell a car and buy another you take a loss. So the least amount of turnover is usually better. i say usually because sometimes you find a great deal, and it beats the depreciation and you can sell it for what you paid...not sure that will be a 996TT...I think it will depreciate more as the 997TT's become more affordable.

you're buying a car, not an investment. The car will be worth the money you paid for it if you get to enjoy the car without any regrets. Just look at the reason why you want a 996tts and the reason for the 997tt. If it's speed, I'm sure there is statistics out there that's already determine that for you. If it's for the reason that you want to always drive the latest and greatest? you already have your answer.
Regardless, you will loose money if you buy the TTS now. But consider if the money you loose will be worth it for the pleasure of driving it. If you wait for the 997TT, you might save some money, but imagine if the money you save is worth the agony of yearning for that pleasure.
best of luck either way!!

True....he needs to decide what he wants....a 996 or 997....if its a 997, then just get it and enjoy....he will not enjoy a 996 if he really wants a 997.

For some a 993 anything isnt a good option....the 996/997 TT's are amazing cars for reliability, driveability, and lowcost maintainence....I drive like 25-30k miles a year and the upkeep costs of a 993 would kill me. If its going to be a weekend car then its an option.

I guess it is an investment and the want for a car the is "out of the ordinary". I want to be able to drive it and walk into the garage and hear the voices from the heavens "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh", you know what I mean
