Suspenion Noise?

Hey,
During the last weekend, i've started hearing some odd noises while driving the car.
it seems that whenever the car moves, I hear this odd noise of metal squeezing.
I figured it must be the suspension... and I decided to drive it no longer, and put it in the garage, first thing Monday morning.

Aparently, I was right. It is indeed the suspension.
my mechanic told me the need to replace the "lower left arm" of the suspension, and also the "right bearing" (which will require some oil bleeding and replacement)

and now... to the $2000 question.
aparently, my Porsche Certificated '01 C4 doesnt cover these failures.

Does anyone have any experience with this? what should I do?
I re-read the warrany, and it cleary states that "Suspension and steering" is covered.
paying $625 for the "lower left arm", and additional +$1200 for the bearing replacement seems awfuly high.

I called the Sales Rep from the (same) Porsche Dealership, and he wasnt aware of the details, and promised me he'll check it out with Porsche of America.

How should I pursue this further?
any advise would be apperciated.

thanks,
Eitan.

Unfortunately, I don't know the details of the Porsche warranty, but if those issues are considered "wear items" vs. defects, then it probably won't be covered. For example, if your brake pads or tires wear out before the warranty period, they will not be replaced for free under the basic warranty since they are wear items.

Thanks MuffinMan, that was exactly my question.... whether these items are considered as "wear items".
feels like I have little choice here.

okay, my precious is back.
~$400 for the right lower control arm
~$720 work fees for a $80 worth of left front bearing (brake bleeding)
$225 for all wheel alignment

not cheap....
but it seems (or am i too naive) that they made a sincere effort to keep the price down.

plus, i got rid of the Merc C-280, that i got as a rental.
feels like back at home again.
loud, low, ridiculously fast and responsive, and unbelievable brakes.
yeaaaaaaaaaaah.

I'm sorry to hear of the ordeal, but it doesn't look like you were gouged too badly. The important thing is you have her back and can enjoy the twisties once again!
