When I bought my car ( 2003 996 cab with 36000 miles) from the dealer it came with brand new Yokohama Advan A048 tires. These tires are extremely noisy on the highway. I believe they are Track Tires. Are these tires Ok for everday driving? apart from the noise, they seem to be fine. I'm wondering why they were put on the car by the dealer to resell the car. The car was in superb condition when I bought it, it came with an extended 3 year warranty. I'm just puzzled why the selection of those tires. No one seems to know at the dealer why they were put on. Any body have any thoughts on this?

 

they are dot r tires. basically street legal track tires. not a good everyday tire. what sizes are they?

 

Yikes, I would swap those tires. They are track tires which need to be warmed up and should not be driven in rain or cold.

 

285/30/18 REAR and 225/40/30 FRONT

 

actually they are prefered tires for many auto x ers due to having grip cold. I would be interested in these tires if they were in GT2 size. gl.
