Thinking about tinting my 2000 996. I know it is mostly a personal preference, but looking for opinions nonetheless....

I am in Michigan. I like the look of tinted windows. Only downside is that the chicks might not be able to see my handsome mug driving around town....



Anyone with tinted windows regret the decision?

Does $289 for back and side windows sound reasonable?

Do the tint! I didnt have it when I was in NJ but in Florida it is a must. I do however now appreciate the way it looks much much more : ) I say do it!

 

DO IT!!!! It cools the interior down in the summer as well....

 

+1 On tinting . Here in SoCal it helps keep the sun from cooking my full leather interior. Also I find the temp is cooler and aircon works less. Looks good as well !!

if you want a tint go with 35% or darker, if you dont go with 50%.
i think something should definitely be on there, and 50% is barely even noticeable.

I'm in Grand Rapids, Tint it up for sure. Careful of the law though. I haven't gotten poped yet, but i know it's coming.

I did 35% sides and 15% rear. Car is a lot cooler inside and out

I would go for either 50% or 35% as well. I had 50% on mine for a bit of a smoked look but would also consider the 35s for a bit darker.

 

No tint. The ladies gotta see you flash your pearly whites as you cruz 5 mph blasting 50 cent on your radio.

 

Regardless of what dhrecon stated....which is spot on by the way, I think I agree with the rest of you and will get the car tinted. Thanks for all the responses.

The tint won't affect the bass effect when I blast the 50 cent, right?

My brother got 5% on his 996.

 

The tint will effect the bass. Your going to have to downgrade your music to say,.. Wilson Phillips.

Tint it, go 35% all around, I had my acura tinted but the Pcar gotta stay clear!
