Help Designing 997TT Coupe
Hey guys new to the forum. I am designing my 997TT Coupe and was wondering if you could possibly give me some feed back as to what you think of my options and if there is anything that I am missing or you think that I could subtract to save some money.
What do you guys think of the new GT2 Seats available from Porsche *Sport Bucket Seats* compared to the Adaptives?
Also Wanted to Add Red Stitching to Doors, Seats, And Dash but could not find the option in the configurator.

I like the car you have designed so far. I think red stitching would go great with your read seatbelts. I don't know much about the new seats... the old sport buckets were a pain when getting in and out of the vehicle and not very comfortable. But, if this is just a weekend car I would get them.
I always like a carbon fiber e-brake handle and shift ****. They would be a great addition to the carbon door sills.
The only option I might not get, that you have selected, would be the multi function wheel. The controls aren't that great. But, definatly keep the thicker steering wheel.
Just my .02

Many options are not on the configurator. Go to:
http://www.bumperplugs.com/2008%20Tu...er%20Guide.pdf
for the complete order guide. Good luck in your ordering process. Hopefully you have an allocation date that is not too distant in the the future so you don't drive yourself crazy (as many of us have done) over picking options. I had over 8 months and I think my dealer was ready to shoot me over the MANY changes I made until the order locked.

the red stitching would be real nice...kill the parking assist and the illuminated door guard; mine says turbo but doesn't light up...you could also paint the center console to match the seat backs, this would break up all the leather in the front of the car...i also agree with more carbon options; brake, shifter, and maybe steering wheel...
my 2 cents - I have the multi-function steering wheel -other than volume, don't use it. It can't change stations. Wiper, I have - don't use it - I've also heard that it lifts off at high speed. I love the sports shifter. If I had to do over again, I would do the Alcantara inserts. - good luck - no matter what - your going to love it
Yes drop the park assist. I would add door finishers in leather and console lid in leather with "turbo" script. These are low cost extra leather options that really tie things together.

I have always felt that configuring a car is a very personal thing but I have done many and have learned a couple of things so for what it is worth. I just finished building my GT2 for May delivery and we took delivery of my wife's '08 Turbo Cab Thursday night.
First went with the Basalt Black on the Turbo Cab vs black purely because of upkeep. I love to detail but black would drive me insane trying to keep up. The only thing we did not do on her car that in retrospect I would have done is the wheels in Basalt Black as well. The little bit of black between the spokes would have popped a little more.
I am doing deviated stitching in red on my GT2 but the configurator does not offer that option it has to be done by your dealer and even then it will not update on the screen to get a visual. Instead of painting interior parts I would recommend carbon fiber as I did in the GT2 or leather as we did in the turbo cab. The interior painted parts will get scratched, chipped, etc.
As far as seats the sport seats are coming in the GT2 and they should remain with the carbon backs. The adaptive seats in the turbo are very nice and long term probably a more practical and comfortable choice if you can do the backs in leather they will look better than the factory silver plastic.
I put a rear wiper on my '05 Turbo S and the first time that I washed the car I lifted the wiper, it slipped from my hand and the blade kicked out and ran right down the area between the rear window and the side window and scratched all the way through to the metal. So after a repaint no more rear wipers!!!
Put park assist on the Turbo Cab because my wife needs the help otherwise I would skip, it is also only at the rear of the car. The sport shifter is a must. I have had it on all my Porsches and strangely my wife prefers the same on hers makes a real performance difference and the factory has begun installing this option again.
I did illuminated stainless sills on all my turbos but did carbon on the GT2 as I did carbon throughout the cabin. It is a very nice finishing touch. My personal approach is to not mix a lot of finishes. On the tTrbo Cab, no carbon stayed with leather and stainless including the "Y" trim on the multi-function wheel to stay consistent. On the GT2 I did carbon on everything available and then everything else leather and Alcantara (seats, wheel, etc.).
Painted headlight cleaners are a nice touch did them on the Turbo Cab but if you want to save a few dollars they are not a big issue. With the chrome badge on the rear lid they tie in if left chrome. I would also change the side markers to clear makes a big difference.
The thicker multi-function wheel is very nice on the turbo cab. I would say go with what you like but whatever you do go with the thicker version. Last word on seatbelt color, no matter what everyone I have spoken with that has done colored tells me they will get dirty better off sticking with black unless you go with a lighter interior. I did cobalt and natural brown in my Turbo S, midnight blue and natural brown in my 997 TT and did not have any problems with the light seatbelts but then again I only put 2,000 miles on the Turbo S as well as the 007TT and sold both in less than a year.
Whichever direction you go I am sure the car will be beautiful!! Enjoy!

As others have said, definite NO to 431 and CPA (thicker multi function wheel). Besides being larger in diameter, the MF wheel lacks the very nice thumb rests at 2 and 9 o'clock positions. The option I believe most people checks for steering wheel is **XPA** (same as the standard non MF wheel, but slightly thicker). This is what I have; it feels wonderful.
Park assist: While I agree that the "look" may bother some of us, I have it and love it. The front of this car is so low that at my work place's parking garage, where there are those low cement block stoppers, it's near mandatory to back the car into space (the Turbo's back clearance is higher than front). Since I am getting older now and not as flexible as I used to be ;-), the park assist is GREAT and more importantly, works as advertised. So for this one, YMMV, for me it's a must have.
You need to have glove compartment with Turbo logo; not too expensive at $300 or so. Many regret not doing this, although it's only for look. Besides adding the logo, I don't understand why but this option **ALSO** adds STITCH LINES to the lid. CUV I think is this option's code?
Rear wiper: I don't have it. Sometimes think I should. Isn't it true the wiper COULD be removed when not in use? And therefore what you have left is only a small post? (Someone corrects me if I am wrong.)
If you have extra $$$, PCCB. Only *if*.

I would chane door sills to alu as they get scuffed and you have nothing else in carbon in your car....
I owuld also go with black painted interior parts (PCM package, center console, door bins, etc.)
Lastly, add the "turbo" insert on the center storage lid bin
