Lightness at the front at high speed?

I was able to open her up a bit today and hit 160 km/h (100 mph). The car felt very light at the front and a bit unstable. I don't know if it's the low profile tires reacting to the road imperfections, or the fact that front is a lot lighter than the rear, but the car did not feel glued to the road.

May be due to side winds. I haven't a clue what the weather's like over there but I nearly pulled over thinking there was something wrong with my car a week back. Nothing wrong, just ridiculously heavy side winds.

Undulations in the road can also give that sensation sometimes. Does the problem occur on all roads, or has it just occurred on this one?

At 100 mph, this car is not even breathing hard. It should feel absolutely planted, much like any other car would feel at 60 or 70 mph.

Hmm. Have to check with the mechanic then. I was thinking about side winds, but it happens on any road.

Hit any curbs or potholes recently? You could experience much of those symptoms if your front toe alignment was knocked out of spec. Get the alignment checked out

The car should be rock solid at 100 mph. I have had it to 150 mph and it still feels glued to the road.

+1, sound like toe alignment is out. It should feel planted at 100mph.

Agree with the others, at 100+ my car is very stable. The car cruises at those speeds so well, it does not feel fast at all.

Don't know....I had my car at 175 and it was solid. Unlike a Ferrari (at least an older 1 ie 355, 550, etc) that feels like the car is going to fall apart at 100mph and braking is scary as hell. The Porsche is unbelievable at high speeds...I do feel it being a little light in the front around corners at mid/high speeds but not straight shots.

PASM on Sport?

If road is bumpy and PASM is on "comfort," car can get a bit "floaty" at those speeds. With PASM on "Sport," I agree that the car is rock solid at speeds well north of 100mph.

Thanks guys for all your replies. Roads in Qatar are pretty bad in some areas, so maybe the toe alignment needs to be readjusted. Will keep you posted.

Defintely feels lighter at higher speeds. When i was tracking my porsche in the straights at 100-135mph the steering wheel dances around, but mostly under heavy acceleration. Let off the gas a little and you get steering back.
