GTR vs Porsche 997 TT
So Bugatti, Lamborghini and Bentley is still a VolksWagen too?..
I dont understand all you people what do u mean, when you say "its still a nissan"... You should know that Nissan has a very old and very succesfull motorsport history in their country. And it can and it build the ultimate street car who can easily beat porsche, ferrari and others... Maybe you should read a little about it if you donnt know what the thing is the GTR ant what history it has:

And by the way, watch this and cry again what bad Nissan car is...

But it does not make me wish I did not buy my TT, just like the Z06 didn't either. Ask yourself this question; do you think the percentage of Turbo owners who would rather have the GTR is higher or lower than the percentage of GTR owners who would rather have a Turbo? Or let me ask it a different way... is the percentage of GTR owners/fans who log onto Porsche sites higher or lower than Porsche owners who log onto GTR sites to defend their cars? Get my point?

You mean, it won't show off a person's success and bring down their insecurities and boost their ego? The same reason why a lot of people buy expensive car! If that's what you mean, I'm with you.
But if someone is actually buying the car for themselves and want the best, a 21st century car can offer GT-R is the winner, even if it was made by Hyundai.

I think it's important to remember that nissan specifically designed the GTR from day 1 to beat the 911 turbo. that gave them a big advantage in designing it to beat the car. They could keep testing and re-testing to make sure it would always win in speed comparisons. The car is also pretty underrated in terms of power it definitely makes more than the claimed 480hp at the crank.
I love the new GTR. I just can't get over the idea of paddle shifting. I'm sure I'll eventually warm to the idea. It's just that everytime I drive the Z with a nice 6 speed box, I have a hard time imagining life without rowing through the gears on my own.
i think not offering a 6 speed manual was a fatal flaw on nissans part. a lot of enthusiasts and people who like buy cars used like me will shy away from it. might end up killing it's resale value.
I would disagree, the non 6 speed reaches a wider audience for those stuck in traffic or simply tired of shifting. I would assume thats a large audience nowadays even though I prefer a 6 speed.
I might even go as far to say that a manual version might not be as well received...the same way that people seem to have complained about the 6speed M5 when it came out, I could see a hastily released manual version being disappointing. I think since Nissan spent so much time developing this gearbox, that their focus should be to convert the "non believers" like us, rather than try and appease both ends.
Thus, I highly doubt the GTR's resale is going to tank. IMO, once these things are available used sans markup, the market is going to be full of buyers hoping to get their hands on these since they weren't able to the first time around.
