996 GT2 versus 997 TT...the update
Sweet mother is the GT2 a blast to drive. I had the chance to drive one around this weekend in an attempt to decide if a trade was in order. All I can say is holy crap!
The first thing I noticed (besides the clutch being heavier) was all the empty slots on the horseshoe console...no PSM, no spoiler retractor (duh) no anything.
Then, I took the GT2 for a spin...it's pretty cold in Wisconsin, and summer rated tires are pretty stiff on cold asphalt...even in these conditions I didn't think the car was too stiff or difficult to control. Granted I didn't push it to the limits because of the temperature.
Aaarrrghhh....I still can't decide.

It's a brilliant car and only gets better with ownership
Didn't I tell you buddy? Most people who give the GT2 the bad wrap and aura it has , has nO EXPERIENCE in one what so ever. Stock it is very very drivable, hell even mine fully modded it is if you have a high tolerance to feeling everything, but it can get annoying.

Do it and don't look back man!!! Only thing I would add if you get one, is tune/exhaust or and MOTONS, the Moton suspension transforms it 10fold, gives you all of the confidence in the world handling wise, to get its true potential without it being so twitchy/scary at the edge!
Question - Do you think that after the novelty erodes on the 996 GT2 and you see a 997GT2 soon enough that you might have skipped a step ? If so hold your car .
You have a beautiful car and trading it in faces depreciation at its most as the car is new thus it costs a lot to get in and out . Is it worth it to you ? Is that Gt2 worth the added cost of adding the loss on the 997tt ?
I can't answer your questions but these are the types of things I think about .
I wish you well with whatever choice you make .
