A little fun in the snow
So to help with the breakin I decided to drive out to pittsburgh to visit my GF and pick up 1,000 miles along the way. If you havent been to Pittsburgh, its a very hilly city, similar to San Francisco almost. Needless to say snow + hills + summer tires can be fun. But overall I gotta say that I was pretty impressed with how it handled coming from an M5 and M3 that on summer tires basically just slid down hills in the snow.
Though I gotta say taking a $138,000 sports car out in this weather with summer tires isnt an intelligent decision. But I couldn't resist.
And of course a few iPhone pics.

You have a beautiful car! Enjoy it in good health!
It's very dangerous to drive around in the snow while your car is wearing summer tires. Although your car has AWD it's no use without proper traction. Please be very careful and avoid doing this.

Its my new DD so its really the only car I drive. The M5 is going to my brother.
I dont recommend driving around on summer tires in the snow, but I wanted to see how it would handle as I dont put on winter tires because its too much hassle for the 1-3 weeks of snow out of the year in NYC (especially since we have rather decent street cleaning).
But I wanted to see what it would handle like just incase I got out in the middle of a drive somewhere and the conditions changed on me. Im very happy with the performance on summer tires, if it werent for the hills the car would have been very drivable, albeit at slower speeds
Honestly I just wish someone would make some all-season treads in this size and then I wouldn't have to look like a jackass

Looks great in the snow!
I think it would be a blast to do some parking lot driving/sliding in the snow. Of course, getting there and back could be dicey.
BTW, how do you like the Turbo compared to the M5?

The turbo is a better performer but I think its a lil excessively noisy in the cabin. Also on long drives, since it rewards really fast shifts its a little more tiring to drive because you gotta keep making fast gear shifts to avoid working the syncros alot and at 10PM after 300 miles, you want to do a few lazy shifts.
But I gotta say that on the road the car is a pleasure, the suspension is definitely great both on the highway and through the potholes of NY which is surprising, and I havent really scraped the front on anything.
Plus you cant beat being able to actually drive some distance in the snow safely even with summer tires on.
The only thing I would add on a second go around would maybe be the door handles in ext color but overall without going two-tone Im rather pleased with the interior.
gotta say, love it, raiyu... i just got to storrs ct where my girlfriend lives, 08 c2s with the turbo wheels and i was caught in this bizarre snow storm that came and went. U have the awd but all in all i gotta say, the 2s handled fine. I wouldnt really enjoy doing it again but it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be.
also im in staten island and i see ur from brooklyn so if u are in the area next weekend and the weather permits if ud like to get some people for a run or meet...let me know, till then happy driving

I hear ya, but I'm definitely glad I went with the AWD, this was one of the reasons I wasnt for the GT3 (aside from the fact thats impossible to get hehe).
If there are any NY meets that's cool, just let me know when and where though Im between here and Pittsburgh on weekends.
