Do it yourself Facelift
Do it yourself Facelift
When I was inquiring about the Techart steering wheel today I saw a 997tt with a combination of the Gt Street front bumper and the Type 1 rear diffuser . I parked my car side by side (wish I had a camera but didn't) and I was so amazed at how the front spoiler looked . My biggest issue with the Gt street was the rear wing . I like the Type 2 wing as well as Type 1 .
The car looked fantastic.
I have always shyed away from mix and match but I do think witrh cars constantly being revised every two years a do it youself revision might be a great idea over trade in.
I would like to see companies in the aftermarket aerodynamically test parts combinations. Not just with Techart but with engine mix and match of parts too .
I think this would be a great avenue for a low mileage driver who wants to change his car every two or three years but doesn't want to spend as much to do it .
Any thoughts?

Yes --except it was a coupe . My first question was about the mix and match. I have not read anything about how well a car can aerodynamically accomodate mixing design styles .
The car does look like a "facelifted" version which (barring a complete redesign) might offer an increase of choices if mix and match tests were done and it was very interesting to see the side by side cars .
Often when a manufacturer revises a car the two are photographed next to each other to draw comparisons and sometimes one hears "I like the lights but not the tail" type of comments .
The front looked better up close than anything I saw in photos. The lower lip was made of carbon fiber and with the huge vents it offered breathabilty which the grills on the stock bumper and or even Type 1 seems to obscure .
I just wish that there was a way of really studying high speed driving with Mr Potato head type choices by the manufacturer . As well --I welcome any future versions too.
