i like the R8 as well. when it comes to German cars. while audi's weight affect the performance of their cars. Besides Porsche, audi is the only other german car brand that interest me. espeically their interiors. they are just spectac

but with the R8, I just cant help but to think its a pretty much a remodeled RS4 with gallarado influences.

Id be even more of a fan of the R8 if the V8 was FI or once they drop the R8 with the V10. looks wise as time has passed. i have become less attracted to the R8's styling. before it was a stuning looking and still looks good. but it doesnt look too proportional to me and the side burns are alittle weird looking to me now

but i know if i owned one, i wouldnt be inclined to thrash it around a track

That's funny you say that because I always thought that the Turbo was an easier car to push than most other cars out there. I guess if the Turbo is easy then the GT-R is really easy. That's another thing I'm afraid of. When a car gets to the point where it'd almost be too easy for the every person to drive, then we'd all end up with overconfident "joes" on the road pushing their cars beyond even those "computer" controlled cars. There's a fine balance between too much and too little. To me, The Turbo pushes the envelope on that. Maybe the GT-R pushes it over the edge? I know that I wouldn't want a car to do the driving for me. This is another reason why I abhor the idea of a clutchless car. Less involvement for the driver. I love driving my cars, I don't love cars that drive for me.

Anyways, any car tugs at my heartstrings in entirely different ways. I still like my Turbo, I still like the GT-R, I still like practically every car out there...just not the Yugo.

NA cars generally are easier to push than turbocharged cars. more predictable is what i meant. that's all. i love them all because they all have different personalities. be open minded. it's not just a car. it's an experience.

Arling, you're right...it's the experience!

One thing that shocks me is the size differences between the R34 and R35. Check this out!

Huge? Nah...

However, IMO that makes the win even more interesting.

Porsche come on! Where's the double clutch gearbox for starters?

My god...look how much bigger the GT-R is than the GT3! It's Godzilla vs David!

And the 997TT is bigger than the Corvette/Z06 too!

Everybody compares it to the 997tt... am I an idiot that in order of that comparison of what I would likely buy is .....

997TT
BMW M3
Audi R8
GTR

I know the M3 is the worst performer but I LOVE that car... it's not always about performance.

Is this right?
The GTR is this much bigger than a GT3?

Wow!!
The newest write up in Car and Driver mentions how large the GTR is but I did not think it was this large.

I think it's only the 4.2 V8, since that's the only engine available for production R8 cars right now.

What are you talking about? If anything the new Gallardo will be taking cues from the R8. The only thing similar with the RS4 is the motor, but they're not identical.

These mags are trying to put a bow tie on a turd. The GTR is not NEARLY HALF as beautiful as a Porsche. It's not all about numbers. Porsche is where form meets function. There was a study where they sat a baby in front of both cars to see which one he would crawl to. He chose the 911 everytime. Baby fart.

I am certainly impressed by the GT-R but if the interior was anything like what my 350z was like then like shoe's with velcro... I will PASS.
