Nissan GT-R Superior?
The GT-R may be faster than some Porsche models, but I seriously doubt it is "better' in terms of build quality, fit and finish. It is really too early to come to such conclusions until the car shows up on our side of the pond. It will take some time to be able to conclude it is somehow "better". And, now that it has leaked out that the new 997's with DFI and PDK will soon be on their way too us, any "superiority" the GT-R has over the 997 line is probably in jeopardy.
For those who enjoy going fast,I believe that it should viewed positively that Nissan has put so much effort into building as fast, efficient and cheap a car as possible:healthy competition can only lead to better cars...I might even get one when the next model comes out...:-)
Speed wise the gtr is more than adequate,
HOWEVER
For touring Europe in the next few months and enjoying the open air and the summer(the coast, the Alps...)
The Nissan doesn't even come close...
...not even by a loooooong shot!!!
I am so grateful to Porsche for putting such a total package together and am so very much looking forward to July in Zuffenhausen

That mark on the hood refers to a marque whose founder was voted "Automobile Engineer of the Century". He pioneered the hybrid, mid-engine placement in racing cars, and syncronized gearing to name a few.
But then again what does that matter? I mean its not like they developed the ATTESA AWD! : )
They were one of the pioneers of AWD in high-performance sports cars (959).
But, those who purchase 911's made it clear they did not want a lot of gobbledygook between them and the road. They said the 959 had no soul. So, Porsche did not go the route of developing all sorts of electronic gizmos to help with driving.

Yes, I believe they won Paris-Dakar two years in a row. Porsche has been pretty versatile in their racing successes. They may be known for their sports car racing successes, but they have shown their mettle in F1 with three world championships back in the 80's, various rally successes, and they even took an Indycar race back in the 80's. I wish they would have stayed in Indy car racing a little longer. Who knows, maybe we will see the Panamera in NASCAR to give the good ole boys and Toyota a little competition. You know, if they did, I believe I would become a NASCAR fan!
I live only 100 miles from the Daytona International Speedway.
