Do you modify quickly or wait ?
When I got my car (11 months ago) I would have liked to have it modified from day one . Sometimes in conversation with others I find that many enjoy the car stock for awhile and then fall in love with their cars a second time once the car is customized.
Obviously modding may have some expense restrictions or even time constraints . For instance I would not be happy with a big expense to have my car in a shop for a long time when I first get it . On the other hand I would not like driving my car stock and then after three years or so modify it and feel like I waited too long to see what the car had to offer. Or even worse procrastinate for so long that it remains stock when it could have been tailored to my likes .
Does anyone decide right out of the gate that you refuse to modify it ? I have made the choice to keep my other cars stock but that's because I have geared my attention more towards my 997tt car .
In short I found a balance that works for me yet am open to hearing other viewpoints .

I think people who modify their cars out of the gate continue the mod process even after that first batch of major changes are done. Its a continuous cycle for everyone, whether you start with one a few months down, or right away.
I know for me each new mod always gives the car some new life and new excitement, although to be honest, my car is still completely stock (PSS10 arriving this week) and I have withdrawals every time I'm not behind the wheel for even 3 hours.
Plus this is my first AWD and Porsches are definitely different on the road than BMWs so Im just learning the car. Then take the mods in phases.

It's a total different animal when you mod it....Its almost like your driving a totally different car.

Modding is like a disease. I have modded every car I have owned. I had most of the parts pre-ordered before my tt even got built.
I swore to myself that I would not do anymore than what was originally planned as far as mods go. Once phase 1 got done, that idea went out the door. I find myself constantly ordering more parts. IT NEVER ENDS!!!!!

My EVOMS Stage II kit arrived at Sharkwerks before my car arrived. I drove stock during break-in (1500-ish miles), got the mods done, then drove to the track to complete the break-in procedure. ;-)
If you are coming from another fast car, it will be hard to live with stock power for very long. I have EVT-700 kit now. If it would just be as fast on CA 91 octane as it is with Race Program and 100 Octane, then maybe I could be done with modding.....
As others have noted, it's a disease.

Me too...but I like to put nice wheels amd exhaust 1st anf then start engine mods...Car need to look (wheels) and sound (exhaust) nice from the start imho !!!
Me too. I like my car to be unique and reflect my personality. Exhaust is always first on my list -- the sound of a car is crucial.
