Hey everyone, I am brand new to this site and I am also a new 997 Turbo owner. I am just starting to feel my way around this animal and I am looking for any pointers on how to get the most effective launch for quarter mile runs with Tiptronic...I have heard to pin both the brakes and the gas in Sport mode, and once at 4000rpm, let the brake go. I want to go to the track as i have been challenged by a couple of GTR guys!

I apologize if i'm breaking rules of any kind, again, i'm a newbie!

 

Sounds good to me. That's what I would do if I had Sport Mode.

So the best way to launch auto cars is brake stands?

 

yes but its also the best way to destroy the tip

 

I just can't see me pulling a brake stand in this car. Maybe if it was a 1993 Camaro or something, but its just too risky if you ask me.

 

I know. I don't even do them in my 05 3.5 Altima lol. I have no idea how anyone could do them in a 100k+ car without a special launch mode program.

 

while doing that try not to pass 0.3 bar and then leave the brake paddle, this work like lunch control on tip.
why i told you 0.3 because this is the best point on my car more than that will spin alot.
