I carefully took apart my housings and replaced all the yellow leds with bright white leds. Then I was able to rewire the led so it will light up when the car starts up and also blink when the blinker is activated.

 

love it! wish i was that handy, as i've yet to see a quality solution for a resonable price from a vendor.
