Any suggestions for radar detectors?

I just picked up a sweet basalt blk/blk turbo...thus could use a little help hiding from those guns! Any recs are appreciated. Also, does anything protect against the unmanned highway speedtrap machines they are talking about installing?

Valentine 1 hands down, I don't care what radar reports say on the others as I've tried them, there's a reason each of our vehicles has one.

Ive ran both, V1 is more sensitive but has more annoying false alerts out of the box vs. the 8500. I use the V1 in my turbo but only bust it out if Im on highways, local cops all use laser nowadays, radar is a rarity unless its CHP or small town cops on highways.

Your results may vary but Im getting a laser jammer next.

hardwire is easy, took me 30 minutes, run cable inside liner down inside a-pillar direct to fuse with a radioshack fuse link, all neat and tidy w/ hidden cable.

radar detector

"V1" is afordable and it works!, plus it can always be hardwired if you dont want to deal with unplugging and plugging in.

I have the 9500ci in my C63 and the 9500ix in the tt. I'm partial to Escort, and love their GPS feature. V1 has quite a cult following, and for good reason, it's a great detector. But, being able to store false alerts, having red light camera alerts, etc., w/ the GPS feature put me over the edge.

However...pay CAREFUL attention to how you use it. Many states have instant on radar, which means the cops pull a trigger to shoot the radar, and don't have the gun on all the time. If you're first, you're sunk, even w/ the best detector. Always follow a rabbit.

Laser jammer and radar detector combo is the best way to go. You can't put your foot down on the brake pedal faster than the speed of light. You get nailed 100% of the time. The jammer at least gives warning and a reading delay to the cop while you slow down. Turn off the jammer before he is able to take a second shot at you.

Another vote for the V1. Paid for itself many times over. If jammers are allowed where you are, I would add that as well.
