Help!! What should I get?
Help!! What should I get?
I am totally confused - and I have been agonizing over this for months:
My '07 C4S Cab lease is up in Q4. (for all the anti-lease folks reading this, please don't bother -- I never want to own another car again - ever!) So, should I order a 2010 C4S Cab? I love my current one - I ordered it and it was everything I wanted at the time - so a new order would be great. Or, should I get an '09 TT Cab? The PFS lease deal is good and people say there are deals out there. As long as it is not all black or some odd color combo and has the options I want, I could be interested. Or should I bite the bullet and order a 2010 TT Cab?
I know this should be a no-brainer -- I LOVE to drive (especially great cars), so even I can figure out that the TT would make my day, month and year... but... one of my biggest concerns is that I already drive fast and I can be fairly aggressive, when prompted. My C4S allows me to dispatch with all of the sheep on the road already -- and without the obstacles (which I do enjoy maneuvering around), some say I drive like the speed of light.
Will the 09TT tempt me to push the envelope so much farther that I will attract every cop within a 100 mile radius? And if I decide on the TT, is the 2010 worth the extra $$$, or I am truly tempting fate with 500HP?
And lastly, on the practical side -- I am a chic. Is it more of a risk for me to drive a TT than a C4S, or is that a moot point?
I know this a great dilemma to have -- however, it's also a very tough decision... Who better to ask than a bunch of porsche freaks, who will completely understand my quandary.
All thoughts are appreciated!

The residuals will be stronger on a lease for a 2010 so that may negate any savings in the negotiated selling price. Also depends on the money factor and I would assume that PFS might have deals on remaining 2009s and won't on 2010s.
If you like a manual car I'd say try to find a 2009. If you like an automatic then the 2010 is probably a vast improvement over the current Tip.
As far as C4S versus Turbo, they should feel pretty similar. The Turbo has vastly more torque which is nice. That said C4S is no slouch and they both now have the same all wheel drive solution which wasn't the case with your 07.
With respect to you aggressive driving, you'd probably have vastly more fun going to the occasional PCNA DE event and wringing out the car that way. Safer and no tickets.

I need to research the August numbers -- the Money Factor is .00146 as part of the special program, but the residuals likely changed from July.
Anyone have the numbers for 10, 12 and 15k miles?
"LEASE", Why would she care, it blows the heads off and the engine falls to the highway like all wet sumps do, no biggie, give it back and get another! Just some levity..... quote: "I never want to own another car again, ever!" Now, if she were buying, or it was myself we are talking about....I would wait and see what bugs crawled out of the new model before taking the plunge.
Get a GT3... If you love to rip around in your car this is the one to do it in.... I had the TT's and just picked up a GT3 and it is so much more fun to drive. TT was amazing and smooth but the GT3 is all out rowdy. Just my 2 cents

None of the above .
If you MUST have a cab --go out and get a C2S cab . The 09 deals are so good (15-20 percent) that the money you would spend to lease a Turbo would BUY the C2S cab outright .
It is pointless to get a Turbo in a cab . The structural benefits of a coupe are needed for this type of Hp . And BTW the lighter normally aspirated DFI /PDK car will rip circles around the AWD cars at low speeds . The Turbo is the high Hp warrior and to have it at peak performance .. an open roof is a HUGE compromise.
Save your money.
Unless you consider a coupe .

Sorry -- it must be a cab -- I know, my husband tells me all the time, the coupe is better.
As I said on a different forum -- There is nothing like a long, winding road, top down, wind in my hair - me singing my heart out with Clapton, while making turns at 90mph. And having a deep throaty engine as my back up...
Just thinking about it makes me want to go out and drive right now -- Sorry to disappoint, but I really need a cab!!

I have both, Oh well, all three....2002 GT2,C4S Cab and a 2010 GT3...all drive differently and unique. If you love speed, get the TT, you'll have a blast getting to the speed limit, without tickets. Nothing beats that turbo blast at the right rpm....The GT2 always puts a smile on my face....Good luck!

I just can not think of one reason to get the turbo given the cost and reasons you listed in your post above as driving priorities.
Then why not save the money and get a C2S cab ? The lighter two wheel drive car will handle better on the winding road . It's also easier to attain a normally aspirated engine note with acar which doesn't have an impellar soundwave homogenized by the Turbo engine .

But, like Tommyturbo said -- I'd also love the speed -- and now that I am getting all this good advice, I am seriously thinking of going to a track, like brownan recommended -- Sounds like a lot of fun!!
If I do track, even just occasionally -- do I have to buy the removable hardtop?
I making my decision this week - one way or another...
I think this is rather simple, go for a test drive.
The feel of a turbo vs a C4S is vastly different.
See which one you like more and go for it.
Overall the turbo is no worse of a daily driver than the C4S and as far as the speeding goes, well dont mash the throttle to the floor so often, even if it is tempting.

If one drives in inclement weather then the AWD is needed . If the AWD is neded then my vote goes to the Turbo UNLESS it noils down to PDK vs Tip . PDK is the way to go . The problem is that the 2010 Turbo has a new engine and it's not really known yet . At 170K that's a lot of risk .
So now it boils down to manual Vs PDK or a proven engive Vs the unknown (which may even be more impressive but we just dob't know yet) . Plus there's the issue of cost . Discounts on used Turbos and 09 models will be significant in contrast to the 2010 newbie car .
There's also the huge discounts on the 09 cars . As high as 20 percent on a C4S cab .
I know you are leasing and if price os no object then none of this matters but paying double to rent a car for three years ( a good price vs a bad one) makes no sense either . One can buy a lot of other nice things saving the expense.
