Loose side marker lense

Hello everyone. I decided to try out different bulbs in my new clear side marker lights. Unfortuately, now the lens is slightly loose. I tried playing with the metal tension spring but to no avail. I doubt that it will fall out but still not as tight as before.

Are there any tricks to getting the lense to snap on tight? I don't think anything is broken but perhaps bad alignment of the tension spring?

Thanks!

The metal tab that holds it in place is the source of the tension, you should be able to mess with that to hold it more securely, give it another try.

Thanks gmoney - I think I got it bent to have little more tension. I better stop doing bulb experiments

BTW, your Hoen DLED idea was awesome. Really loving the new city lights.

What is the best way to remove the side marker lights? I followed the directions on Suncoast and simply pulled it out but may be I should use screwdriver to relieve the tension on metal spring before prying it out? Luckily nothing is broken (yet).

Same thing happened to me before. You need to use superglue and afix the base of metal clip to the base of plastic tab. That should fix the problem.

dksu - I am having a little trouble visualizing where to put the superglue but won't that prevent you from taking it off again? I am sure I am misunderstanding what you wrote...

If you need an orange side marker, I have plenty of spares, just pay the shipping!

Dont use a screwdriver, one slip and you can scrape the paint. I put pressure along the lens to put tension on it then pull press a credit card edge in to pry it out. You can do it with no tools also but easier on the hands using a credit card.

Suncoast - thank you - but it's my clear lens (purchased from you guys at great price!) that's loose. It's not too bad now after I played with the metal tabs.
