2010 Turbo Fog Retrofit

I am curious if 2010 fog light (LED) can be retrofited on 997.1 turbos?

I am sure it won't be cheap.

Ive thought about this as well but right now LED DRLs are all the rage but shortly every single car will have them so decided to skip it.

I would venture a guess at $ 1k in parts though.

i also contemplated the same idea after seeing an 10 but the cost probably wouldn't be worth it. i currently am running a 8500K hid kit in my fogs and am satisfy with that.

sure is. i actually have ran the normal size ballast and the slim size and both work fine (the slim is a lot easier). if you get them make sure it comes with the relay so they don't have issues with igniting. my original set didn't and they only came on half of the time. my 2nd set that purchased from a sponsor here included them for free and works perfectly everytime:

wow - your car looking amazing! Any advice on where to run the wiring etc? Do you have to remove the bumper?

I agree about the relay setup. I'd never run HID without one. Ones without have always failed me in the past.

there is actually only one way to wire it + & -and everything is really straight forward. no bumper removal but you should raise the front end a bit so you can move around down there. also the bulb install and removal is a PITA due to the tight space but once you figure out the positioning of the bulbs its a lot easier. my only tip would be to remember the way the bulb comes out so you can put it in the same way.

2010 LED fog light turbo

the 2010 turbo fog light housing is about $480 for the pair. The big question is whether this retrofit is possible, and whether a separate module or wiring changes may be necessary. Does anybody know?

You would need to somehow tie it into the 997.1 DRL, which I believe uses the high beams. Then you would have to overcome the bulb out warning as thats looking for a larger draw than the LED will pull.

All in all a big headache unless the dealer can work some PIWIS magic to get it working like they do with the rear LED.

waste of money, effort, and time IMO. why not just switch the lights to parking and pull once?
