2011 Porsche Turbo?
2011 Porsche Turbo?
Does anyone know if Porsche is making a 2011 version of Turbo?
As far as I know, only 2011 Turbo S will be produce.
According to few dealers, when the new 998 is roll out, it will takes couple years until a brand new Turbo is introduce.
My expected time is probably 2013 or 14. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks.

I have never posted on rennlist but this thread even discusses a Gt2 RS http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...and-gt3rs.html
It's really up to Porsche what they decide to make and if a dealeship has no allocations yet it may not mean anything .
Porsche has curtailed production in general.
It does make no sense that Porsche would release a refreshed 997.2tt for only a one year run . If they did why even call the Turbo "S" an "S" model ? They could simply call it the 997.3tt with extar Hp and standard options .
Either way ..wouldn't the "S" be the car to get? At 175K for a well equipped base is 25K or so more going to matter?

You can order a Normal 2011 Turbo or at least that is what my dealer is claiming He says that said the builds will begin in Fall. Just as last year they will be scarce . I ordered a Turbo S Cab. In Ice Blue Black Top added Carbon Console Carbon INT Carbon Sills Xm Radio Crest in Headrest Black Blue Leather Int Leather PDK Surround. I have been told a Aug build but nothing confirmed keep getting told should have something firm real soon but nothing yet. Went with the Turbo S since I was going to do PCCB plus all high end goodies got the 30 extra Hp to boot for same price as a 2010 Turbo with similar options.

Yes, i put a deposit for a Turbo S Coupe based on assumption that there will be no more Turbo for at least couple more years.
If you to include the options that Turbo S have on the 2010 Turbo, the price is actually higher (MSRP).
The only concern is that starting 2011, Carrera will have some minor exterior change and i would hate to spend $180K on a car that is outdated on the exterior.
I would seriously doubt that they would make a 2011 Turbo. But you never know, history may not repeat itself.

Would be interesting if they have a 2011 Turbo. Would really kill the purpose of 2011 Turbo S than.
We shall see in few months. Can't wait for my Turbo S either way

In fact --it would disappoint me greatly to go out and buy a regular Turbo in 2010 only to see that as good as it is .. it's not the best . In fact .. it might even depreciate the base turbo somewhat.
Once upon a time Porsche used to work hard to make the best car they could and release that as the final product. I have felt that the base and "S" designations may be great for sales but it changes my perception about the philosophies that made Porsche so successful in its early years and how it evolved into modern times.
I think the exact opposite. The Turbo S will have options which woild cost more if added to the base Turbo PLUS extra Hp. It's like the 997 and 997S where the S is proportionally a bargain .. just at the Turbo level .

Not sure about Dep. of 2010 but yes if I had just bought a 2010 and 4 months later better car came along it would be a bummer. But that happens every time they make a change just not as fast as this time.
But for me glad I couldn't order a 2010 and ended up with Turbo S at least till the next Model comes out in a year or two I will be Top Turbo (non Modified that is )
