Any issues to note on 2007 Turbos?

Hi everyone,

Since I sold my 996tt, I was at first dead set on getting a gallardo but the 997TT is looking more and more attractive to me. I wanted to as if there were anything that I need to be aware of for the 2007 turbos. I know it's the first year production and am curious if there were any issues just like how the earlier model 996tt's had 2nd gear pop out issues. Is the 2007 just as solid as the later years?

Thanks in advance!

Edwin

All you need to know is it's 100% pure awesomeness
No major issues to my knowledge other than the minor VTG service bulletin

This seems to be a common problem afflicting both 996 and 997 turbos.

Haha... I have no doubt there's lots of awesome in the 997s. Is the VTG service bulletin something major? I'll have to do a search on that.

You need to be aware that you'll be giggling like a schoolgirl a lot while driving this thing. Also, your brain will be working harder trying to find reasons to go out for a drive. Seriously, the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

I too have been glancing at some 997TTs but think I will want to change it up a bit and go with the "other" route for now.

Keep us updated on whatever you pick up!

Jack, I'm trying hard to justify spending that kind of money for the bull. Would you be interested in an 04 22k miles G for $86k (new clutch)?

12K, run hard, driven to and from work... only issue is I had to replace the front Electronic Control Unit which handles the dash lights, turn signals, etc.

Just had mine replaced today at 13k miles...but it's fairly minor and covered so no real big deal. Clutch pedal feels better than ever and I tried the GTx accumulator and it was too heavy (to me) for every day driving.

At my age it's the MOST fun whether you're wearing clothes or not.
