Does someone know if the GT2RS stock internals are the same than 997.1TT?

i'm not sure about that, if you looking to get some parts a believe after market would cost you less than half the price of GT2RS parts

I suppose internals are the same, and it would be a good thing for us, 997.1 owners...

The new GT2 RS is the 997.2/ 3.8 DFI ; similar, but not the same as the 997.1 3.6 internals

could have sworn its based on the 3.6 gt1 block and i know from my tuner that my gt2 internals are a little different than the 997.1 tt

No it is not. It is the (almost) same 3.6L Mezger engine. Check Porsche's website for more details.

yup, not related to newer 3.8 at all.

It is the 3.6 "Metzger" but with some upgraded internals.

Accoding to the latest issue of evo magazine, the internals are very similar to the 997 GT2.

Andreas Pereuninger says that it has "special conrods & special pistons" which seems to be marketing BS.

It has exactly the same torque as the 997 GT2. More than likely the internals are identical to previous gen turbos.
