Mike, you did say that 88 posts ago but some of us thought there was enough **** and vinegar in the combatants that it would happen...a lot sooner than this.

Let me know when you get the inlet pipes in and I'll call you to schedule an install.

As soon as I finished posting this, Mike@AWD's message disappeared. Wha' hoppen?

UPDATE: Just so everyone knows, here's where we stand as of today with the "challenge". Initially there were several conversations between ourselves and TPC about the location to hold this little event (all of which were friendly and in good spirits, I might add). We threw a few suggestions out on the table, they through some suggestions out on the table, and eventually we mutually agreed that the events would take place VIR and MIR, which you'll have to realize are both about 1000 miles away from Pompano Beach Florida. Obviously that presents some logistical issues for us since it will basically require our team travel quite a bit to get there. Then there was SEMA and a few other events that made a few weekends unrealistic for both parties involved. In the meantime we also had the entire track and drag strip at PBIR here in Florida rented for our own track event, which took tons of preparation and once again presented another scheduling conflict.

So as of today, we once again have the entire track and drag strip at PBIR rented again for our December 18th track event. This time we're working with several major sponsors like Oakley, Beats by Dre, Rebel Rock, etc, as well as some celebrity hosts and performers. The invitation is open to TPC if they'd like to come take part in the festivities and get the challenge over with at that time. There will be plenty of media, it would be open to anyone who wants to watch, and the weather will probably be perfect. If not, our next option is to cancel Christmas and do it that weekend, but I have a feeling no one really wants that to happen (myself included ). So...unfortunately the next opportunity for this to happen will be after the Holidays have passed.

So to sum it all up, has either party given up or abandoned this challenge? NO WAY. Will it happen? YES. December 18th would present the perfect opportunity to make it happen. But as the challenger, we will respect TPC's request to hold the event at VIR/MIR. Will we make sure there's plenty of video and photo coverage for those who can't make it in person? YOU BET. Will it be awesome to see these two cars battle it out? ABSOLUTELY. So stay tuned and keep your eyes on this thread for details. We'll post them up as soon as we know anything.

Champion made 777WHP on their 68mm VTG kit I don't think there is a reason to compare those two cars

SO very true. This is why we never really entered the HP dyno wars before. But, in this day and age, it seems dyno numbers are an important measuring block for potential customers, and the public in general.

It's comical how everyone on this board holds the dyno as the benchmark for the 911, reality is its a track car, not a f'n drag car.

I couldnt agree with you more!

There is no doubt a true test for a car is on a road course and not a drag strip. Not only is it a testament to a vehicles performance on multiple levels but a test of its reliability and the effectiveness of the parts installed on it.

I say forget the drag strip and dyno........

Take it to a road course and show what you can do lap after lap..

Thats my personal opinion!

I think a road course will only show the better driver/suspension setup. the advantage of the dragstrip is that it really takes the driver skill to an even level in a case like this one.
Remember, a cup series driver in a boxster could drive circles around the most heavily modded gt2 in the hands of a novice on a road course. The only way would be to have the same independent driver flogg both cars on the same track and compare data.
