Champion vs TPC challenge
Chris, I do not think it's meant to be a fender to fender race as the talk was to get a pro driver to drive both cars (meaning 1 driver total). More of a time attack to see who can build the best all around car and set it up. A race would be pure stupid and pretty much no one would allow it without fully prepared cars.
A hot lap challenge (like lightning lap) with a pro driver is hardly that risky and happens on a weekly basis on tracks around the country. Just give the driver 5 laps in each car and see which one turns a faster lap. Like a magazine comparo.
I am starting to agree that Champion is being a little dramatic. In the spirit of competition I think TPC could be a little more willing to bend on the location. But the comments about VIR by Champion are retarded. It's one of the most recognized tracks in the country and one of the best on the East Coast. You'd think it was Roebling Road or something the way they talked about it. You don't expect something from a company with such racing "accolades".

Both companies should make attempts to contact the producer of Battle of the Supercars and let Tanner and Paul Tracy hash it out with both cars, not only will they wring out eveything both cars have to offer head-to-head it would also be televised on Speed.
I disagree, each shop should bring their own car and driver and the driver should be one of the regular guys that drives for both shops. Champion has drivers and so does TPC and thats who they should use IMO.
I agree 100%. This BS about having a mutual driver or having a tv show do the race is absurd. Champion called them out, this is no more about being freindly and lets see who's kit is better than theres a man on the moon. Champion made it clear that they had something to prove cause TPC had said things about them etc, it's a grudge race and there is nothing wrong with that. This isn't kit vs kit, its company against company and there is nothing wrong with that IMO
Come on dude...give it a rest already. We know you don't like Champion...you don't need to constantly remind us.
We're talking to TPC ON A DAILY BASIS....we're just as anxious as anyone else to get this over with and move on. But guys please....just keep this thread polite and civil....thanks!

I can't believe I just read the whole thread! Personally I got hooked and will be following this. To me the four events within the challenge will give me plenty of information to decide what I want out of my car. Also, in my opinion the reason why this was started is of less imprtance than the way it ends. I am not talking about "winner-loser" but the products, the tuning, the actual challenge and etc. that I believe will help us as clients and car enthusiasts.
Again, regardless of how this got started I would like to see the outcome and would like to thank both TPC and Champion for their time and effort.

^ You along with a LOT of others...
I'm still on the fence as to which second car to buy. Seeing the possible end results of this may change not only which car/brand to purchase - but which company to remain in contact with to meet the goals of that car.

It looks like TPC won't budge on the location and VIR will be the proving grounds for the road course portion of the event.
Stay tuned, class will be in session.
