Too many variables and lack of regulations for this "event", IMHO.

I think the driver mod factor will play a roll here...

They agreed to using the same driver which rules that out.. But for drag portion i say a drag oriented driver needs to drive.. a road race driver might run the same car .5 apart on each run if he isnt consistent.. on the road course they vary by nothing lap to lap usually..

VIR is near Mexico? I thought it was in Virginia, could be a different VIR.

Hey Mike, I challenge you to see who has the fastest shop car, we can have the same driver but we have to run the same class of turbos..

VIR was named one of six best road courses by 2010 Car and Driver. Just go up there and show them your stuff and not let this be an excuse to back down especially after you called them out. Looks pretty sheepish from my perspective.

Why don’t you both just hand the keys over to Tanner & Paul and have Supercars do back to back shows where Tanner drives one car for the first shootout/episode and then they switch cars for the second episode...that way we can all watch, and we won’t have to listen to Paul whine like a little girl if he gets the lesser of the two vehicles.

Unbiased and a neutral playing field...

Shoot for Infineon since they have a drag strip as well!

There is a long list on here of which shop runs what, you know that.. Whos fastest 997, 996, PDK etc.. i like to do it yearly like the EVO List we do and see who is fastest come Dec 31st each year.. Thats who is quickest for 2010 and so on.. it gives you a short term goal for each year..

As far as everyone meeting up at any given event its hard to bring together all shops nationwide to 1 event.. For example, Im 30 hours away from EVOMS probably and 25 from you.. LOL

Mike

Guys, you all missed the boat to see who has the fastest Tuner car when you didn't respond to the invites to the Global Tuner Grand Prix this weekend at Laguna Seca! www.globaltunergp.com.

This is event was to call out all the Tuners to see who has what when it comes to both Tuner cars and Race cars! Fastest lap time at the world famous Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, where a car that handles well and stops well, plus has the power to pull up the hills, will be crowned the inaugural champion!

Stay tuned for the results from this weekend........and the next GTGP for 2011!

Interesting thread. I can only imagine the outcome for the loser. Perhaps an eternal loss.

Please tell me you're kidding.

How many "Mexico" runs actually take place in Mexico? It's called a figure of speech.

There is never going to be a winner in any kind of objective manner, but it could be fun. It seems that the original focus of this thread has run off the rails, IMHO. Let's just do it already.

Guys, it's been entertaining to this point, but it has run it's course. No good can come of it. I suggest you both take the high ground and step back. I'm a bit disappointed that the moderators allowed this to happen.

Have to agree with Doug. Not sure of the specific "incident" that started this whole thing, but if you read GT3 Chuck's 1st post in this thread he clearly feels this challenge was not issued in a very professional manner, nor did it have anything to do with a "friendly competition". As he said, it was issued in anger.
