Champion vs TPC challenge
LOL...you guys just made this thread worth reading...
This is good publicity for both, otherwise, why would they agree to the event. Both have very fast set-ups and times will likely be very close. So will it determine who has the fastest package or is it more who is the fastest driver? If one package is a tad slower does that mean they will lose business? Not necessarily since pricing is a major consideration. Why not also put these puppies on the same calibrated dyno for a comparison?
Subscribed as well. Why not hire the "STIG''??? Hahaha..... I think it should be the same driver not each driving their own. The purpose is for an every day Joe to choose a kit and see based on exact skill level which machine is better..... am I wrong to admit a part of me wants to see this competition get a little "dirty'' too...... hahahahaha.

Protomotive does not build a tuner car to show case, they are just the best tuner in the world as evident by all the companies they have directly or inderectly have help over the years.

In your humble opinion you might add...
That's a mighty big assumption not to mention absurd
IMHO they need to go fight out it out on the track.. Both companies have extensive race history and experiance .. A true testament of a cars performance is NOT in the quarter mile..
Set up a track event - two pro drivers and let it ALL hang out..
20-30 minute race wheel to wheel will push the cars beyond the limits and the real winner with the best car will prevail.........
Its to bad neither Champion nor TPC is coming out to Laguna Seca for the GTGP.. The score could have been settled on this famous race track during the GTGP next weekend..
I guess there is always next year... This way everyone can put it on there calendar and all the BIG GUNS in the Porsche tuning world can come out and show what they have... The whole world will be watching in 2011 ...

But tuning for power is one thing. There are many tuners that have a different focus, and have been successful in other regards. GMG for example, doesn't seem to prioritize huge horsepower projects, but they're extremely successful on the track and bring their advancements from the track to the street. I would say they are a tremendously accomplished tuner in that regard. EVOMS currently has the fastest documented/timed cars, and has a great customer support network with many satisfied customers worldwide. RUF has a manufacturer status - that's next-level stuff. To say one tuner is the best, when there's variation in the goals they're trying to accomplish, is a big statement, perhaps a little unqualified, but i can see where you're coming from.
Let's just enjoy some good competition between two rockin' tuners!

I agree with with the statement above , but i also think that todd k is one if not THE best tuner in the world. he doesnt only go for peak HP but his power under the curve is nasty, as you saw a few years back on the porsche shoot out thats was in the magazine.
Well it's been quite some time since my last post but this one caught my eye. I actually like seeing this friendly competition and welcome it.
TPC and Champion are very professional companies and I for one would like to get involved in this challenge. I know it may be too late but this is exactly what the GLOBAL TUNER GP is all about so it's too bad this couldn't be setlled next weekend!!! SEE WWW.GLOBALTUNERGP.COM.
A car's performance around the track tells all......power, balance, handling, braking......good in all categories will most likely produce the fastest laptime.
Regarding Mark Ambrose's comments.......
We at GMG strive to make a Porsche even better, in all performance categories........not just HP and straightline. Porsches were not built for drag racing, although that rear weight really helps, they were built for all-around performance. But we realize that many enthusiasts and owners simply want more power and we can certainly provide that as well as a completely balanced car, one that can be driven to the track and then run flat out all day, and then driven home.
Most of our clients seem to appreciate a Porsche with a well-balanced suspension, precision braking and razor sharp steering, hence all the development we have taken from our racing exploits and formulated our GMG World Challenge parts. Racing improves the breed and that trickle down formula is one we take very seriously.
Ok.....off my soap box for now but this competition will be one thread I will certainly follow and look forward to hearing the results.
