CF Hood @ 15F

It's friggin freezin here but I had to take these pics! The boost at 15F with low humidity is fierce.

I found this 3d sticker of the old style crest. What do you think.

I think the emblem would make it look good like oem. Looks clean over all. I kinda like them with gel coat on, thats how I have mine. Kinda looks like its painted depending on the angle your looking at it.

I like the way the hood looks on your car. I'd slap that emblem on as well...

Miss boston and the cold weather! the car looks amazing and thats a good idea to stick that logo on the carbon hood and change it whenever you want without making holes in the carbon

Make sure the hood is cleared.....it will turn green...then yellow...then oxidize like mad in the heat.....

I’m not entirely sure but I think that I was told 7 lbs. That seems very light but I saw the hood when it was unpacked and it did not weigh much. It is CF bonded over fiberglass.

I’m probably totally insane but I swear that the front end of the car feels lighter and the steering appears more precise.<O</O

And, what do you mean "cleared"?

Clear coat is basically a paint or resin without pigment used to protect the base paint or in this case the CF

Im just warning him. You are exactly right. Clearcoat is what the factory or painters spray to protect the base paint color. Without a clearcoat you wouldnt be able to wax your car...99% of the companies only GELCOAT their CF instead of properly clearcoating it. I know first hand because of the damage the sun does to CF. Let me see if I can find a pic from my Mini. HERE...Not the best pic but you can see the greenish-yellow hue the CF has with just 1 month exposed to the hot summer months. Then it gets really bad and actually looks like oxidized paint. Just looking out for you homey....My Mini parts may not be a P-Car hood....but its still expensive. Im not making the same mistake twice.

And this is what color it SHOULD look like....these need to be cleared then installed.
