Can a shop that's doing a PPI determine the remaining clutch life on a 997.1 TT?
It's probably going to be pass/fail.

Only in the most superficial sense, a clutch could engage great up until it starts to slip badly. A country test; try putting the car in 6th gear(while parked), let out the clutch, if the car stalls the clutch is still good, if not it's slipping.

Because there is no clutch wear sensor, look for other signs of abuse - over revs, brake wear...are they disproportionate to the mileage on the car?

I don't understand this. The tech would have to "feel" a difference of a mm.

The tech that did my PPI basically said that since it's an "assisted" clutch you usually don't feel the wear like an unassisted clutch until it's worn out. Like Bob said, look for other signs that the car has been driven hard.

Best way would be to just get it up to 30-40mph, throw it into 5th or 6th gear, full throttle, and it'll either slip or it won't.
