Consider Goo Gone! to remove residual adhesive. I found the adhesive to be difficult to remove with clay.

Was there something wrong with the 3M film? Why would you want to take it off?

I appreciate the protection, but can not stand the way it looks - does not have the metallic shine of the rest of the car. Kind of like when people used to cover their sofas in plastic - what's the point? Yes, it stayed clean, but you were never actually sitting on the sofa itself.

Having said that, I plan to enjoy a couple of road rallies with my clear bra on since the previous owner installed it, then I will take it off.

i concur with everything jasont just uttered. My car's color is guards red and just looks awesome. i felt the film dulled the look and made it difficult to wax (also the film picked up residue in the seams very easily). I only take the car out when 65 degrees and sunny, so not to worried about it. but big thanks to previous owner for putting it on originally. LOL>

Something to consider. When I removed my clear bra it left a line where the bra edge was. You can hardly see it and have to be in the right light but it is there. When I asked about the line, the consensus was once you have a clear bra your married to it for life. If you remove it you may want to install another.

Sometimes the line is from cutting (ie knife blade to trim.) Sometimes it is from the clear bra itself. It is probably best to use a full piece on the entire hood (rather than a half bra) and fenders, and have the installer roll the edges.
