Sport Mode Retrofit question.
Sport Mode Retrofit question.
Went to my local Porsche dealer today with my PNA 20% off coupon with the intention of purchasing the Sport Mode Retrofit Kit for my 08 997TT. The parts guys had no experience or knowledge of the kit and it was quite a lengthy process getting everything squared away. Finding the correct part numbers so it could be ordered was a bear. Finally, one of the guys located an installation bulletin and all appears to be good.
One thing were all still a little fuzzy about is the switch/trim plate. My trim plate is silver and the swithch is black. The parts guide describes the switch as volcano grey/black. For those of you who have had this done, is the switch and trim plate one piece or is their a silver trim plate I still need to locate. The parts guys could not find a seperate number for the trim plate. Thanks in advance for any help given!

Damn good suggestion. Certainly money better spent.

I dunno guys. SC is a nice function and when tuned you get two different tune settings again, so i personally wouldnt say its a waste of time at all..in fact to the contrary
. I quite like using my normal mode with its different pedal feel and boost settings....makes it all that much more fun having the variety. Sports mode is more fun again but in a different way...but its nice having choice and options. So from that perspective, no, i most certainly wouldnt say its a waste of money at all
. A tuned 997tt with SC is more fun, imho of course
And, I wouldnt swap mine for a one without....NOOOway!!
Edit: Btw mine IS manual!
Edit No 2: PS. Todd K protomotive can set both modes up aaany which way you like....and yes....you will like having two modes

Well...since your car is a tip go ahead and install the retrofit...tiptronic acts very different in sport mode and with the enhanced throttle response it makes fast driving better...Also when you brake hard while in sport mode tip lower gears so to be ready for full acceleration...
We have the Sport mode software retrofit on our website and have sold quite a few of them... Having said that every one of our customers have been loving the retrofit!
Especially a Tip or PDK car, you will really feel a difference.

+1 agree, and don't forget the difference in suspension.
