2005 porsche engine compartment

My battery is dead on my 2005 porsche and I've tried using the terminal in the fuse box to get the engine compartment open so I can boost it but when I try this I can only get the switch for the front compartment to open. What can I do??

Why don't you boost it from the front trunk compartment? You should use the battery's terminal and a ground near by.

You only need the front compartment.......that's where the battery is, nothing under the engine bonnet will help you.

Ok thanks for the help. I figured I could boost it that way but another post was telling me that the battery was in front but the terminals were under the engine compartment because the battery was still to difficult to access.

Here're some pages out of the 996 owners manual that may help.

No panic. You probably have a bad battery causing a low system voltage and all the systems go haywire. Replace the battery and I'm sure everything will be fine

jpresser, NO, you don't need a P battery. In fact, nobody does. Get this...go...to...Walmart. Yep. WallyWorld has the battery quite a few on the board use, with universal satisfaction, and many unspent dollars in their jeans.
