911 Turbo S "918 Spyder" Edition
911 Turbo S "918 Spyder" Edition
Porsche has officially put the 918 Spyder on sale for a breathtaking MSRP of $845,000. And, as an incentive to those who
order the supercar, Porsche also is offering the opportunity to buy a limited-edition 911 Turbo S, called the 918 Spyder Edition.
It’s yours (for $161,650 in coupe form and $173,050 as a cabriolet) if you placed an order for the Porsche 918 Spyder.
Think of it as Porsche’s polar-opposite answer to Aston Martin’s Cygnet – order an Aston and you can buy a 116/gkm
city car too; buy a super-clean Porsche supercar and a 268g/km 911 is an optional extra.
Both coupe and cab cost the same as the standard Turbo S. Again, just 918 versions of the 911 Turbo S ‘918 Spyder
Edition’ willever be built. There are no mechanical changes, but the brake calipers, door mirrors, interior stitching and
instrument needles are all bright green, plus there’s with some extra leather and carbon trim and a special plaque
on the glovebox.
And while customers will have to wait until 2013 for their 918s, deliveries of the Porsche 911 Turbo S ‘918 Spyder Edition`
start in June 2011.

I can't wait until the next "special edition" 911 comes out...The Porsche 911 Carrera S "Porsche Edition". It's rumored to be available for order in any color available Porsche color or color to sample. The Interior will also be available in any current model interior colors. The Brakes will be standard Carrera S brakes, however PCCB will be optional. Engine will be the standard Carrera S 3.8 currently found in the engine bay of Carrera S models. Luckily this "Porsche Edition" will be available in a choice of either 6-Speed manual transmission OR PDK. Lastly, the wheels will be standard Carrera S attire, however optional wheels are available at an additional cost.
I also heard another rumor that they will be Producing "Porsche Edition" Boxster's, Boxster S', Cayman's, Cayman S', Panamera's, Panamera S', Panamera Turbo's, Cayenne's, Cayenne S', Cayenne Turbo's, Carrera's, Turbo's, Turbo S',GT3's, GT3 RS', GT2's, and ultra rare GT2 RS'. I can't wait.

All these "special editions" have gotten beyond embarrassing. Also, check out the stitching on the turbo - did they actually get the deviated stitching wrong?! LOL. It's green along the dash but looks like the std. color on the sides of the PCM and shift gate area
Next they will make an "R" model priced Ridiculously....
This special edition, limited edition nonsense is plain silly. Never mind the FU pricing for these "special editions."
Its bad enough every special model is a stripper and you pay out the backside for cosmetics/performance options that should be flat standard on a high end car.
Someday we will remember when you could buy a Porsche for under $100K, err $200K....
