700+ hp

For those of you with an EVT700 package or equivalent, would you say that your car is "jumpy" in 1st gear pulling slowly away from a light? I very often find the car getting into a bucking motion if I try to take off slowly (speed of traffic). If I'm first at the light then I can accelerate a bit faster and the car typically responds smoothly. Just wanted to know if this is normal with higher hp cars?

This sometimes happens to me and I am stock. I figured it was the clutch being kinda wonky at the top of release that I am not used to.

My car stock does this when I have the sport button on, I thinks it's just a matter of giving it enough gas to clutch release to get it going smoothly. I've been embarrassed a few times pulling away slowly and having the car buck like a bull

I guess my main issue is that I rarely had any issues at all when I had the EVT580 tune but now get the bucking very frequently with the EVT700 tune. Just trying to discern if it's something unique to my tune or if it's something that all 700+ tunes exhibit.

Thanks all of the input!

SeattleBum,

Where did you get your work done? Do you happen to know a good shop in the Seattle area? I live on the Eastside and just got my stock 997.

Thanks for any information..

I had the same issue on occasion, assuming you have the stage III clutch, I found a need to bring up the rpm a bit higher and drop the clutch just a bit quicker, this works well for me.

I have suffered this as well and I don't think it's the level of tune. I believe it is a combination of throttle sensitivity and the clutch slipping slightly due to not completely engaging.

Once it starts bucking disengage the clutch and start over with the throttle.

I avoid this now by making sure the clutch is completely engaged by taking my foot off the pedal, rather than 'riding' the clutch in anticipation of either shifting or slowing.
