any regrets ?

i am on the fence about going from my 996tt cab to a 997tt coupe.. i love my car and have done much to it, however, i still have about 10k to go. heres where i'm @; my car plus 34k, that i would get a loan on, gets me a cpo 07 tt and all i will do is add an exhaust and tune. should i just keep mine and drive the s---- out of it.. anyone regret going from a 996 to a 997? oh, i only drive the car 2k miles a year......

I myself is in the process of purchasing a 997 TT. Though the prices of 996 TT have become pretty attractive but the cars are very different. Once you test drive a 997 TT there is no turning back. For me the 30 to 40k price difference is definately worth it and i am goiiiing for it. Btw, have u test driven a 997 TT yet ? My advice would be, if you don't want to pny up the difference then don't even sit in the 997 ...

Hope that helps.

Although I agree with everyone, here is another angle for argument's sake.

Is the 996 TT cab a 34k less car than what you are getting? The answer to me is perhaps no. Here is what I mean:

In debt and crisis ridden Greece, there are 996TT 's slowly appearing for under 40k euro. This is a 200k euro car in Greece, so if a 997 TT is going for 90k-95k or so these days and a 996TT is going for 37k which is the better deal?
As much as I prefer the look of the 997 (maybe 1 million times!) the 996 is a better deal in my view.

So what is the case with yours? EDIT: and you are in Cali. Whats the premium that you should place on the cab vs the coupe?

Good luck and keep us posted.

I'd typically say yes, but why take that depreciation, eat the interest on the loan, and get a car you can't thrash when you only roll over 2,000 miles/year?

thanks for all the input.. yes i have drove many, about 4 997tts. yes thet're great cars.. the funny thing is; i went to the dealer to look and drive a 07gt3 rs. loved the car and the price was right. before i bought it i wanted to make sure it fit in the driveway. guess what?, it did not. so the sales guy had me take a look at the 997tt.. very cool car. however, when i get back in my car i still liked it better, it feels faster, and has a solid feel to it.. its my car!! those sales people are good. they lowered the price of the car and came up on mine. long story short i think i will redo my driveway and hold out for the car i wanted in the first place. in a few years my house will be done, and i will just save 1k a month and i bet all 997s will be where the 996s are now. cheap.... plus i just moved close to the beach and went for a drive with the top down last night... priceless!! btw; if they drop the price further i may move to the 997tt form LOL and just go backwards.... just kidding ???
