Are you able to have an alignment done on the 997tt outside of the dealership? My local dealer wants $1900 for spring install and alignment.....LOL

^that grand exit was a disaster. i was hoping to do a 1-2-3 gear burnout and powerslide.
i had my head down in shame as i drove the other way lol

 

TPC is the way to go. I drive up from DC and having dealt with them have them do all my maintenance (as well as the mods they've done).

 

Had 4 Michelin Super Sport tires (via Tire Rack) delivered to a reputable tire installation company and they installed the tires + alignment. Cost for alignment $99. Dealer cost for alignment $350.00. The car tracks much better now as 3 numbers were in the red when he gave me the printout.

 

$99 is a shocking deal, $350 high if a dealer....$200-$300 not out of line at a reputable facility who takes their time and does it right the first time. NEVER use a dealer for anything other than buying a car and oil changes. The dealer experience is the main reason why I may never buy another Porsche. The car is great but I cringe every time I need to visit the dealer.

Do you have to wait any amount of time to have the alignment done after a spring install?

 

You need an alignment immediately with the spring installation. Some tuner might have you bring the car back a couple weeks after the springs/system have settled in for a check up and possible re-alignment.
My tuner (Lucent of West Los Angeles) does not charge me for this second visit.

 

The car will go right from the lift to the alignment rack.
