I haven't driven over 200 and definitely won't change to bigger turbos, so APR maybe the way to go.

its written on my sig...APR software,europipe EP2,bmc drop in filter...We have two exact same cars here with simular results...

 

How would i know? really? ... i know a few people that had FVD tunes on their cars, and they were dogs... thats how i know.

they are the middle , cuase they are subpar to the tuning of people like Todd knighton from protomotive... in drivability and power.

 

Well I could say I heard the same about Proto but I aint that rude.

Thing is beauty is in the eye of the beholder! (seems the case for most things)

Also If you haven't owned both maps then why should you comment!

 

GTRNICK with all due respect when i was doing my own due diligence I too had received negative opinion from a certain owner here on 6 who had decided to eat his FVD tune and get something else. Now it's not for me to name him but i can tell you he wasn't alone either....and i wouldn't make stuff like this up. I was told the specific issues why he junked out of it so i also don't believe he was making it up. Now that's not to say there aren't many folks out there that don't like the FVD tune because there obviously are....yourself as an example. I think the point here is that there are tunes out there that definitely have not lived up to expectations for 100% of all purchasers and there are others that definitely have. So on that note, to say it sits in the category as being a sub par tune is fair and reasonable comment given the negative user feedback that evidently exists out in the market. You mention Proto? I think you are out on a long limb with that claim. Now on the other hand I have yet to hear any bad feedback from anyone who has bought Todd K's Protomotive tune, in fact to the contrary. I am however aware of certain 6 speed members that have eaten other tunes (inc FVD) to then go for other tunes instead (inc Proto tune) and have been extremely satisfied of the changes and dollars spent. So, if you are truly aware of anyone that has eaten a Protomotive tune because of its inability to perform, and more to the point perform reliably, then i would certainly like to hear it as I'm sure other members would as well. Please PM me the details as i would be genuinely interested to hear. However if you are just casting dispersions over Todd K's tune as a "tit for tat" over what unvmy996 has imho rightfully said, then that is not right...indeed rude and disrespectful.

 

That's not what I said is it otherwise I would have with evidence to back it up!

What I was saying is its not good to come on here saying that FVD is no good and non comparable to other tunes without evidence to back it up otherwise I look at it as slander and very disrespectful!

So Please PM me the details as I would be genuinely interested to hear.

One more thing I respect all tuners and their work and if I recommend FVD which is great in my experience then I'm not going to do it by bad mouthing other tuners, my car doesn't run like a dog for a start.

 

really? i doubt you can cause it would be a lie , i have yet to read or hear anything on a bad proto tune. also.... how am i beeing rude about it ? cause i was stating what my friend told me and what i have read from others regarding the fvd tune?

i think your just trying to justify it to you self , make your self feel better about getting an fvd tune... but deep down you know you should of went with some one else ,thats why you getting but hurt about this.

i comment cause simply i can, i know people who had both maps.

i would gladly put ANY fvd tune against a proto tune car... it would be a no brainer.

 

If you were capable of reading then you wouldn't have said some of the things you have just posted! Maybe you should read the next post after that one!

Also I have had an FVD remap for 2 years so get your facts straight brother. I have done 20k miles or more with it without problems and destroyed a lot of super cars no problems with just a stage 2 so yeah I feel great about what I have lol have a good new year!

get what facts straight ??? what does the fact that you have you tune for two years have to do with anything ? Im happy for you that you have it for two years , and your happy with your mediocre tune. i didnt ay it was a bad just a middle of the totem pole tune.

yeah usually the he said she said **** may be school yard stuff... but not when you have driven the cars, and have one of your closest friend tell you also.

To the original poster, please do a search of previous threads about people's opinions on engine tuning. My advice to you is to research the actual tuner and not rely upon internet opinions.

I'll leave this thread open for the time being in hopes that factual information can be discussed.
