The car had an EVOMs 670 kit, but the Ferrari store wanted it back to stock. I believe the only part of the kit that was removed was the tune. Robert and Todd at EVOMs will be taking a look at it and getting it on the dyno. As far as further mods...I'm not in hurry. The car is plenty fast and I'm driving more my age after two significant speeding tickets . There are some minor issues with this used car like a right header leak that EVOMs will help with and a navigation issue that is going to be looked at today (even though the $21,000 stereo sounds nice I wish it was stock).

3RS4.0 is infamous around these parts
Congrats! Clearly you already recognize the car is a GT car and is built as such. Too few enthusiasts get to experience what the GT2 really is. Enjoy.

dr,
you will really enjoy the 2 so much more with the EVOMS600 upgrade. It changes the car from a really hard-hitting GT to a monster. I'd recommend seeing Todd at EVOMS. He's done some additional fine-tuning of the GT2 map which makes it run extremely smoothly with a beautiful power delivery. Your first ride with it will blow you away.

My friend picked me up today in his GT2 (EVOMs flash without cats). It is truly night and day from stock!

There you go. I'm interested in knowing what mods your friend or you do and what the incremental benefits are (cats, pipe, etc.).

The EVT600 tune was clearly the biggest gain in performance. After this tune his clutch was slipping so he had EVOMS install their stage 3 clutch which allowed the EVT600 to really shine as all that power was now able to be transferred successfully. We found a set of cat bypass pipes online and had EVOMS install them with another software mod for the decrease in exhaust temps. The GT2 is appreciably louder when he gets on it and the rear end steps out in 3rd gear. It's certainly a handful now and IMO it was when it was stock.

Yeh, that's a sweet feeling when that rear end steps out in 3rd, even with the PSM on. Did your friends's exhaust note (not volume) change any to sound any more like an x-pipe or others that sound so nice, or was it just louder?

My clutch started slipping from the Evoms tune and mods, so I am getting a stage 2 Evoms clutch installed along with some suspension mods. Will get the car back next week, can't wait. I also thought it was a monster stock and was hesitant to mod, now I can't imagine going back to stock. Whenever anyone rides in my car they ask "what car is next?", because they know I get bored and switch my cars often. I do not think that I can switch to anything better from this car though, until one day I can afford a CGT

Nope, I would have them stripped and painted black with a red stripe around outside of the wheel.

+100 on the EVOMS products, they should have you boosting strongly with a flash depending whats on the car.
Congrats on getting the car you really wanted. Pros/ Cons? Any advantages or regrets ?

I was looking for a PDK or F1 transmission. I was really tired of shifting the TT in light traffic on the way to work. I'll tell you something else, I was tired of stressing (please don't start hating) over thinking I would loose to all these quick 0-60 monsters on the road (even though I truly hold back from engaging with them, and with them I mean an insane amount of car from infiniti to EVO that come up on me) in some sophmorish race. Foolish thinking? Yes it is, but none the less that's what I felt the PDK (or the F1 in a Ferrari 360) was going to give me.

Regrets? None. There are a few issues I am dealing with in a used car (I am more than **** when it comes to perfection). These issues will be worked out. I do not have a first car to drive so this is not a second car. This GT2 will be a daily driver.

Advantages? OMG!!! I do understand that this will seem snotty, but I am far from that kind of person. For those with have the chance to give up (and I do mean this with all my heart as few will ever have the chance to be an owner of a TT) their TT for a GT2 --- DO IT!!! As I have written before it seems like the GT2 was assembled in a small plant where the Mercedes G series is built (like a german tank). It is tight, rock solid, deceptively quick and fast, and without (IMO) compromise.

In closing, when asking about advantages or disadvantages the people whom should be asked these questions are: zzzspeed, bbywu, sladep, and GT-Silver as they have far more experience than I do and I would always welcome, and be humbled by their expert opinion on the subject of the almightily GT2.

Shawn

The GT2 has been at Evolution Motorsports for several days now getting some work done (re-tune, header repair [not an EVOMS product], and possible alignment). I wanted to shoot a thanks out to Robert and his team at EVOMS for being there when I needed them, in fact they have always answering question and handling things quickly, and have always been very courteous.

http://www.evoms.com/marketplace/marketplace.asp

EVOMS has worked on all the Porsches I have owned (997 C2, 997.1 TT, GT2) and my BMW E60 M5. I'm very pleased with everything they do. Hope to post a dyno from Todd's wizardry when complete.

Side note: The guy who had the car before me put a stereo in the car, not just any stereo, but one that exceeds what I have at home. Problem is I can't listen to it as Kenwood has the head unit replacing the Garmin navigation unit.

Here are a few of the components he had installed: FOCAL No. 7 front speaker set, FOCAL No. 5 rear speaker set, STEG K2.04.2 amp, STEG K2.02.4 amp, FOCAL 27V2 subs in customs enclosures in black with red stitching --- crazy.
