Now that everything is sorted out, other than my quest to get the rims de-chromed and painted, how do I shower this GT2 in the jewels and luxury she's expecting?

If anyone has read my posts in the detailing section (this is also posted there) should know that detailing is a hobby of mine. When I detail on a bi-weekly basis it is a wash with fine soap and deionized water. I paint correct as needed and a major paint correction every 6 months.

I am always on a mission to find a GREAT wax!!! This is not easily accomplished. I have used the likes of P21S, Swissvax, Zymol, Chemical Guys, and Dodo Juice. Lately I have been using a sealant (currently Chemical Guys Black Light) due to the heat we experience in AZ and it is a good base for carnauba wax.

While sealants are good for longevity they typically do not provide the clarity and shine of carnauba. Carnauba typically has a short lived life and needs to be re-applied on a more frequent basis than sealants (I apply carnauba wax every 4-6 weeks).

I have recently been introduced (via an internet search under the "best carnauba wax" to Migliore: http://www.migliorewax.com/Index.html. I only invested in wax for my first purchase, but this will change when I order next as they make quite a few products that work in concert. I bought a pot of Migliore Primo

Migliore is, from what I can tell, a small, high end company making fine boutique automotive products. I do know they are based in the US.

So on to the wax (Migliore Primo) - the case presentation is nicer that $500 waxes I have used in the past. MIgliore Primo is easy to apply and easy to remove. Shine is amazing!!! Price point for the Migliore Primo is below what it should be as I've used many other products that cost 300-500% more that don't hold up to this shine or ease of use (very important to remember).

Anyways, here a pic of the GT2 a day after application of Migliore Primo...take a look at their site if great boutique wax and shine is something your interested in.

Congrats! Nicee!

Q! Why the rims are chrome, not the std. matte finish to begin with!

Think the matte finish on the GT2 is awesome - AAA.

Thou I agree with getting rid of the shiny (chrome wheels). Advice: do not go for black.. as it would take from, not add to, this Automobile's beauty.

Just my .02

I bought the car 4.5 months ago and the rims where like this as the previous owner owned a chroming company (at least this is what I was told). I can't stand the look!!! Getting new rims is not in the budget and to get them de-chromed and painted will take 2 weeks (the car will need to be on jacks for that time). So at this point I'm in no hurry to change the color of the wheels.

Why will it take 2 weeks? Seems excessive... Done in 2 days usually, unless you are shipping them far... Sandblast and dip...or paint...

In any case, congrats on the detail job, I am envious... Will look up this wax, although I am a zaino fan.

THX - wheels need to be shipped to CA as there are no companies locally (from what I am told) that can dip this large of a piece. I was told 12-14 days and this could be conservative on their part in that they are telling me the worse case scenario.
