Why tip has the speed limiter at 400rpm less than 6sp?

I made the first video after installing the GT2RS intercoolers. I found in youtube the 2nd video and realized that 6sp gearbox has the rpm limiter at top gear set at 6800rpm, where the tip has at 6400rpm. So how much speed would a tip car do with the limiter set at 7000rpm?

Crap??? It is safer for the engine (less rpm), higher tq limits at stock form than a PDK (i believe that, stock tip has higher limits than modified PDK's) and easier/cheaper to mod than a 6sp car (no need to reinforce the clutch).

And with the tip upgrade kits and TCU flash, it can deal with a +1000awhp engine and drive like stock at sunset beach... If this is crap, then what is great for you?

I really need a TCU flash to have shift points at 6900rpm... Is there any place in Europe able to do that?

Hello Tiago,

I can flash your TCU with the raised rpms and torque limits, no problem.

Regards,
Emre

I actually prefer the tiptronic for the stoplight warrior, you will not find a more consistent 0-100 or 1/4 mile car than an automatic, look at the majority of drag racers today.

I don't think it's appropriate to state something is "crap" based on market value of used turbos.

The comment about resale value of tip vs. manual is simply derived from the demand of consumers, not the original price of the vehicle components. Some prefer these cars with a manual and are willing to pay more for it.

Tip turbos, as was stated in the earlier post, are extremely capable and the transmission itself is very stout. His car is capable of high 10's with only a tune and exhaust...doesn't sound bad to me.

He is absolutely right Mike. Demand and supply dictate prices for used cars...
