Dectane tailights problem
The work on taillights was done from my tuner. He have a photos... for info please contact racegaragelab@hotmail.it
After fiddling with my friend's tail light, I have found the following.
The power to each of the 6 pins in the harness activate the various signals in the tail light - turn signal, brake light, fog.
If you step on the brake light, the Dectane "C" comes on. If you turn on the fog light, the side LEDs will turn on. In a perfect world, you want the "C" shape AND the fog LEDs to turn on at the same time.
When you activate both, the middle LEDs will dim. The circuit board inside the housing must be wired to dim the middle LEDs when power is sent to both the "C" and fog LEDs. Without opening the housing, no combination of rewiring the exposed wires will complete the LEDs all around.
If my friend will let me, I'll crack the housing open and figure out how to do it.

Well - I convinced my friend to let me have a crack. I disconnected all the wiring, resistor packs, screws, and baked it for 15 minutes at 200F. The adhesive won't soften. Any higher temps, and I'll damage the LEDs.
I am afraid not. The moment there is power in both, there is some sort of a resistor there which dims the middle row (takes out one of the two lines of led)

I've noticed (upon very close scrutiny) that my Dectane LED 997.2 give off an ever so slight humming noise from the rear. Not objectionable noise and pretty quiet, but it's there. Just curious if other adopters have noticed that?
With the engine on? Everything electric "hums".
This was with the engine off. Perhaps it's the resistor circuitry (or whatever's left of mine), humming away as they do their job.
