True Cost to Own a used 997tt

I am trying to get a feeling how the maintenance costs are for 997tts, more so if they are year based or mileage based. For those folks that picked up lower mileage 07-08 997tts (<20k miles), at what mileage did you start having to replace maintenance items like brake disks, suspension components, and clutch? I am used to BMWs, where they usually last until the 50-70k mile range if you just use the car for a daily driver and don’t track the cars. I have been pricing out the cost to own cars via Edmunds true costs to own for a high level estimate, but their analysis is based on 15k miles a year. So when I look at an 07, its estimates an average of $4k a year, but it’s also assuming it’s a car with 60-75k miles. Is anyone seeing these costs or are they lower as I really should be looking at the costs of a 2010 or 2011 because I am looking for a car with 10-20k miles or effectively only 1-2 years old?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
<o></o>
I plan to put between 10 to 12k miles on the car a year. <o></o>

Thanks for the help. <o></o>

10-12k a year is one set of rear tires (fronts every other year) and 2 oil changes. So, about 1k for rears installed and $80-$200 for each oil change. $80 if you do it and $200ish if the dealer. The rest will depend on how hard you drive your car.
Break pads are very easy to do yourself. Plug changes and coil packs most will leave to the pros.(40k if not tuned. Most will do coil packs here too, to save on labor $300ish for new coil packs) Clutch will run you $2k-ish. Break flush every 2 years too. That should cover most of it.

At what mileage does the clutch and rotors go with these cars when they not tracked and its at stock power levels. I was planning on enjoying the power bump from what I was used to, then in 1-2 years do a flash and upgrade the clutch together after I get a feel for how solid the engine is incase there is some issue that pops up and I would prefer was covered under warranty.

Clutch is a hard this to tell if you have not owned the car since day one. I would say a car that has been treated well you should be in the 60k-75k range before you will need a new clutch.

All depends on how much time you spend on here. If you're like many that get hooked, you'll likely spend much more on mods than you will on maintenance.

Very interesting thread (in light of my thread).

So what if the car is already tuned (map+exhaust+clutch) from almost day one, been used as GT, been serviced at intervals and has 40k on the clock?

Anyone has approximate cost break-downs for a similar car? There are many people with 997T that have done extensive tuning on their vehicles.

What? You mean my new exhuast tips that came today aren't regular maintenance costs?

I thought tuned cars were changing plugs every 20k-25k. Everything else should be about the same except for the clutch wear.
